Suzuki GR650 - back to work...

Re: Suzuki GR650- paint progress

Yes sir. This is my new favorite paint - Duplicolor Metalcast. The pics really don't do it justice. If you look in the airbox pics above you can see where the seat is going to have the same red paint.

Re: Suzuki GR650- paint progress

Thanks Jay! I will be adding some pin stripes. I was thinking silver.

Re: Suzuki GR650- paint progress

Nice work Rich! I like how you're using the shape of the 450 tank there too, working out very well indeed :D

Re: Suzuki GR650- paint progress

Thanks Pete! Got a little more accomplished recently:

Once the paint fully cures on the tank and seat, I will be laying out the same silver stripes from the fender on to them. Then clear coat all around.

Re: Suzuki GR650- paint progress

Very nice Rich! You're hurting me with that silver. Where is Justin? Can I get an 'I can dig it' all up in here?

Re: Suzuki GR650- paint progress

Thanks fellas! It's tough finding time in a cold garage to attempt to get a good paint job.

Tyler, I bought 2 cans of Spraymax 2K Clear a while ago. So I'm waiting until everything is DONE before I bust those out - hence the fender having stripes but no clear coat yet.

Re: Suzuki GR650- paint progress

What sheen is the black? I'd wonder if the 2k makes it gloss

Yep, Nice work, can't wait to see it in person sometime this summer/fall.

Looking good Big Rich. You must be a busy man, how many projects you got going?

Many more than I wanted to in the fall! This one, a Trail 90 for a co-workers son, a golf cart for my dad, the other GR650, and a CB125 on the side...........

Opticz - here's the black I've been using:

Thanks for the props guys - means a lot to me. Today I'm spraying some appliance epoxy on some smaller parts, so nothing earth shattering going on in the garage.

Re: Suzuki GR650- paint progress

Re: Suzuki GR650- paint progress

Shit Joe, you just littered my thread with "great" paint jobs.........:D

But the epoxy I'm using today is for smaller stuff: tailight mount, fairing hardware, license plate bracket, etc. So no clear over top.

Re: Suzuki GR650- paint progress

sorry rich want me to pull the pics off bud, i just wanted to show Dan you can clear with rattle can and get great results
