I am the newbie of newbies. 3 years ago I wasn't even interested in having a motorcycle in the family. We've progressed from "absolutely not", to a street fighter/cafe racer cross that we can ride two-up, to his bike/her bike and talks of a third one on the way. T71, my DH, built a 1977 Yamaha XS360 cafe racer for me, that we affectionately named "Isadora." Many of you know her from his posts in Big Arse Projects and most recently in May BOTM (thanks guys!). I got caught looking at DTT one day, and was told I had to get my own account. So, here I am, and am looking forward to meeting all of you, especially other women interested in cafes!
 
i'd like to be the first to say HELLO!!! ;D

welcome to the addiction. in no time, you and the hubby will be sitting on the couch, both on DTT. might sound ridiculous now.. but i've seen it happen ;)

so.. will the next addition be a bike for you to work on?
 
Thanks for the welcome! I'm already wondering how one laptop and 2 account names are going to be working! I can see us racing for the computer after dinner to see who gets dibbs. I might help on the polishing, but Tyler is pretty particular about how things are done on the bikes, so wrenching isn't looking real bright in the future (maybe you should work on him on that).

It seems your the queen bee around here, I'll have to stick close to you. :-*
 
welcome! it is ok, my wife likes to think of herself as the head of our shops "design team"... basicly means she tells us when something looks like shit... ha ha ha got to have that though!
 
I'm sure we can think up some plan ;)
IMHO, starting off with smaller projects and working up to big ones is the way to go. For me, a complete rebuild as a first project would have been too much. Read the manuals, learn how things work, and don't be afraid to get your hands dirty! ;D
 
Welcome, welcome! I think it's great you two are sharing this passion. I'll have to join you and Tyler on a ride or two this fall when I get back in town.

Thanks so much for the warm welcome! I can't wait to start looking at some of these builds. They take on such personality.

I love the title "Head of design team." It sounds like a tough job, and I would imagine complete with a tough crowd to please, but somebody has to do it!! ;D

Ringo, a ride sounds awesome. By the time you get back I should be an old pro at riding, can't wait.

DH usually means "Dear Husband" although I promise, if I ever mean for it to be "Dumb Husband" there will be no mistaking that - context will say it all lol

So, off to check out some of these rides, woo-hoo!!
