Picked her up today:

1994 FZR 600. Always loved dual headlight bikes. Needs a lot of regular maintenance since it's been sitting for a year, but it starts right up and idles smooth. Was dying for something faster, and at 100hp and 400lbs this should do the trick I think....

Thanks a lot fellas! ;D I have some affinity for older bikes (pretty much like every single one of you) so I didn't want anything too modern.

I got a heap of work done on it tonight. All the plastics off, bled the brakes, smoothed and painted the front brake res. cover, took the airbox/tank/carbs out. I tore the carbs down and have them soaking in some yamaha carb dip stuff. Seems to be doing a hell of a job. Everything is just covered in 16 years of schmegma, but the stuff that counts is all nice and clean....like the intake runners.... The float bowls had a bunch of crap in there from evaporated gasoline which is why I tore them down, but they'll go back together tomorrow and hopefully back on the bike soon. I want to be riding this thing at the start of next week. Tomorrow I'll flush/fill the coolant system, do an oil change, replace the spark plugs, and replace some hoses. Then it can start going back together after a good douching. I'm sure more stuff will pop up though.

Got the carbs back on last night, fired her up tonight after work. She runs pretty damn well now. Got it all buttoned up with fresh plugs, coolant flush and fill, and an oil change. I ordered a new chain today and a new rear tire, along with some grips. So those should show up next week, and I'll get her registered and on the road. Psyched ;D

Man, brings back memories. My first sportbike was a '93 Gixxer 750 and it had the large dual headlights. I ran Japanese blue light bulbs! I polished the perimeter frame, chopped a bunch of plastic off it, did a jet kit and full stainless RS3 Yosh exhaust. It dyno'd at 113 at the wheel. I used to race at the drop of a hat. It didn't matter what it was, cars, trucks, HD's... all fair game. What a fun bike that was!
