Throttle "side exit" perch HELP!

Has anyone messed w these perches before and know how I can outfit the stock throttle push/pull cables from my cb550 to this unit?? Or is it possible. I can bend the metal and try and squeeze it in there but haven't tried that to see if it would work. Could possibly cut the metal and expose bare throttle cable wire? Idk that would be hard without the proper tools accessible. Any ideas?

Here's the perch... Might just be easier to buy new cables?

Pretty sure that throttle housing just has the cable sheathing going into it.

Those elbows on the cables need to come off, so probably easiest just to get new cables.

They sell cables with just the wire exposed? Most I see have that elbow also

Cut the barrel off the end, get a new barrel, pull the elbow off, solder new barrel on.
Done.

Or take it to a bicycle shop and have them do it.

The barrels on the throttle perch can come out.. and I tried pulling the metal elbows off from the cable, but they will have to be cut off somehow. The cylinder hook at the end is too wide anyhow to pull through.

The cylinder at the end was what I was referring to as the barrel.

No problems with solder not holding for you guys? found some new barrels I could get from flanderscables.com that feed through and my local bike shop said they could try and help me out although they didn't advise it for such a high tensile zone.

will not work as is. open the throttle, attach 2 brake cables or shifter cables (thinner) from a bicycle and use barrels on the other end. i also use outies from a bicycle.

I'm gunna cut them off and solder them.. Regular solder hold? or do I need to do something special?

Everyone save yourselves the trouble.. Unless you prefer to get your hands dirty and potentially run the risk of a snapped cable down the road.

Those cables have the same configuration as most modern sportsbike throttles. So, you could probably save yourself more grief and money by just buying a throttle set-up with cables off a zx9 / R1, etc.
