To keep or not to keep auto injection

I guess I am concerned that the oil injection failure on an older 74 RD350 . Do most people just keep the autolube or do most people go the premix route in the tank and if so is it that big of a deal to accomplish. On a bike this old it just makes me nervous that if the pump fails a seizure is in the future.

Thanks!

If it were my bike I'd keep the auto lube. I haven't ran across any pump failure or even heard of one. There are some two stroke gurus here, maybe this has been gone over in length before. Have you searched the threads?

Thanks for the replies all. I was told the crank seals were done about 500 miles ago along with the one over weisco rebuild. Hopefully that much is good to go. Major service being done on next Monday along with a safety inspection.

it's your motor I wouldn't trust "I was told" with mine

a pressure test is a much better idea(and the right way to go about it) before just yanking out the seals and replacing ;)
easy to do and also will let you know if there are any gasket/case leeks

I bet they guy did not include documentation and receipts for the crank seal and piston work.
Google "leak down test" You can get a handful of hardware store items, expansion plugs for the ehaust ports, a some plumbing caps and a couple of air valves to make double sure your seals 100%

And to answer your autolube question: KEEP IT :D
