Top triple not lining up propperly on a CL350

ok, so last night i change my front tire, after fighting to insert the tube for a few hours i manage to get it in! when i install the wheel, i noticed that even when the lower part of the tree , the tire and forks are straight, the top is looking as if i tilted it a bit to the right, anyone have had this issue before? everything is tight and good, is just weird, if i turn the top straight then the lower complete thing is looking to the left a bit. any ideas? is this something that might fall into place once i start riding the bike?

Sounds like the forks are twisted in the triple tree. I would probably loosen the triple tree clamps, put the front wheel on with the axel tightened down and then torque down the triple clamps. You want to get that all lined up or you will have problems with wobble. It would be prudent to check the service manual for the correct procedure though. Please don't take it from me.

i actually manage to get it straight once i loose all the bolts, but when i tighten the top nut it just wont stay straight, does anybody knows a propper torque sequence of the front end?

sounds bent... they never slide in perfectly, maybe they did when they were new, but you should be able to pry them in by hand without any levers or whatnot, if that's not the case, make sure you're not missing a spacer on the front axle, and if that's still not the issue, make sure they're not bent, bent is bad, it leads to sticking before the forks actually move, so... very unpredictable front suspension

I had the same issue (although more pronounced) after a wreck on my 400.
Ended up being bent forks. And a broken upper triple.

the other thing is that before i changed the front tire everything was good! this happened after i changed the front tire and i put everything back together

Then you did something wrong. Check www.cmsnl.com for partsfiche and to see if you missed or misplaced a spacer.

Are you running a fork brace / fender? Those small diameter forks can get pretty flexy without a brace of sorts.
