Total loss ignition wiring diagram

I was looking for some help wiring a total loss ignition system, a diagram would be great! I am building a race bike, no need for lights directionals or charging system. Do I need to use the key still, or can I have just a kill switch? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Also, the bike I have have is a 1971 CB500.

Thanks!

Just take a standard diagram and ignore the stuff ya don't need

Looks like you just need the ground, and a line to your coils, with a kill switch and fuse if you decide to use one

You need an on/off switch to the points/ignition and coils those are the only parts needing power to run. The switch can even be used as the kill switch (needs to be mounted on the right handlebar) I think, but check the rule book.

If for racing you can also remove the coil off the crank which will make a nice acceleration improvement. Lots of things you can do for little money that will increase performance on the track.

I've added a Dyna S ignition system with coils. Do I just run power from the battery to the coils and then to the kill switch. Sorry for the silly questions, I don't want to screw this up and I am not good with electrical.

If you're racing in any sanctioned body, you'll likely need a dead man switch too... Where and with whom are you racing? You'll really need to check the governing bodys rule book to be sure.
