bsa and the goldstar began the street ready hot rod bike in the late 40's and still continue to be a contender in vintage races around the world.there are many other brit bikes like brough, vincent, velocette, ariel, ajs that have been right there too- but nothing as popular as the goldstar..
the 1956 is a absaf dbd style engined machine with electronic adjustable timing, elctronic ignition and lighting output,a special 5 speed gearbox, belt drive with a good clutch, ceriani 4ls brakes and forks, progressive shocks, steering damper, modern tires, billet cut rear brake plate,etc.. it is my vintage rider due to the durability and 5 speed handles highway speed with no problem...the 53 is a bb34 small fin that i built about 13 years ago,it was actually an off road machine and the frame and swing arm were damaged beyound repair so i made a jig up to modify an bsa a10 frame s/arm to work with the single engines oil pump (kinked area) and unique lugs on both swing arm and frame.....had them out for one last ride before i winterized them. i really hate winter! enjoy the day,joe@ vcycle
