Yes, throw that idea right out the window. Makes about as much sense as whitewalls on Comstars.

Just being honest. Wouldn't want you to commit a cafe faux pas at your next meet. 8) If you really want to bling out your hoops, get aluminum rims and stainless steel spokes.

no sweat... i asked... better being honest then to floot my boat.  ;D

I already rechromed my rims and polished my hubs. I was just thinking of something else to give my wheel set that added next punch. Check out my bike build thread.

I kind of go over board on everything I do.... But thats the way I like it.

yeah just run the same parts as everybody else and it'll be alright ;D hell you never know, it might just be the next big thing! if you want twisted spoke's go for it. i would if i could pony up the funds.

If you want the bling...then go for it....change is good...If not , We'd all be riding british bikes fighting the mods

yeah twisted spokes would be rad! then you could get some cool long fenders front and rear and then move your seat back a little bit to fit a fatter gas tank but for that to work your gonna need some longer bars, its cool though, you can dress them up with leather tassels.by then your gonna be rollin' in bitches so your gonna need a passenger seat and then to keep her on you should put a sissy bar on to make sure she doesn't fall off but just in case you should change your suspension out for something softer and adjustable like air bags. oh man... if only.....

/sarcasm

seriously though, just do some badass powder coating or a metal plating that would suit the bike. its cheaper anyway.

so you don't like twisted spokes?

No, I do not. If you're going to put twisted spokes on your bike, just go ahead and start wearing chaps. Oh, and a Village People black leather cap too.

so what does a cafe bike look like? i mean does your bike look like everyone else's?

No, my bike probably doesn't look like everyone elses:

But it's not really about what a bike looks like.

A cafe racer can have a small tank or a big tank. It can have a bumstop seat or a two-up seat. It can have clip ons or clubmans. It can have rearsets or not. It can have polished aluminum or not. It can be any damn color you want.

But cafe racers have one thing in common: they are racers. They draw on the heritage of vintage racing bikes of the 1950s and 1960s. They are lean, light and built for speed. There are no superfluous parts; everything is for performance. If it doesn't improve speed, handling or braking, it has no place on a cafe racer.

Twisted spokes are the opposite of that. They are weaker and/or heavier than straight spokes. They are not at all about performance. Like ape-hanger handlebars, or those chrome brake caliper covers in the J.C. Whitney catalog, they are just "gingerbread", just decoration. They are for choppers and other Truman Capote bikes. Put them on your bike if you like, but please call it something else other than a cafe racer.
