** WELCOME to DTT**

Re: ** WELCOME NEWBIES to DTT**

hello everyone, I'm new to the forum.
I just purchased my friend's CB750 that needs some TLC and a cafe revamp.
Not much of a motorcycle mechanic but i do have an understanding of how to fix and build things.
cheers everyone!

Re: ** WELCOME NEWBIES to DTT**

I've been a member a few weeks but haven't gotten around to posting (I've been too busy reading). These forums are fantastic and I've already learned a bunch from some of the people on here. I just sold the first cafe I built (79 gs550) and I realized I can't stay away (i loved that bike, but couldn't afford food and books), so I'm picking up a cb550 this week.

Thanks fer havin me!

Newton, do you have any pictures of the 79 GS550 you did? I have a 78 that I will be doing work on this winter. Any inspiration would be great, I have seen a a few GS's on this forum already.

DTT old timer from back before DTT was DTT. At the time, there was only DRJ, Leon and another asian guy ha!. We had an MSN group back then. I cant believe how much this place has grown in the few years.

Just checking in for the roll call.

Nice to be back.

Sorry fer the late reply! I only have a few pictures, but man was that a fun little rig. The deal with the cb550 fell through, so I'm back in the market!

Can't go wrong with clubmans and a cafe seat. Looks good! Just don't know why you wrapped the cans usually it's the pipes that are wrapped.

I can safely void myself of responsibility for that... the previous owner had them wrapped when I bought it, and I was afraid to see the condition of the cans if I peeled the wrap off. Being a college kid eager to ride and on a tight budget, I left it. Believe me, there were plenty of other things the owner did to the bike that were horror-show worthy

Black Bar-B-Q grill paint will cover up a multitude of sins and won't unravel. ;D

Re: ** WELCOME NEWBIES to DTT**

That GS must be the L model? When stock it's more of a Jap cruiser? I have an 'E' model from the same year, the lines are different - seems like the tank is smaller on the E. Good job with the bike! It's great to see another GS here.

Re: ** WELCOME NEWBIES to DTT**

Ebay has some good deals in regards to seats. Check your local bike shop for handlebars. Rearsets, they can be a bit spendy. You can check out this link: http://www.cb750cafe.com/parts.php
The guy is local to Cali and builds parts specific to the CB 750.
Then, just check the forums and look at pictures and builds for ideas.

Re: ** WELCOME NEWBIES to DTT**

whats up. my name's erik & im from youngstown, ohio. ive been creeping around on here for a few months now since i bought a bike about 4 months ago. i found a cb360 that cost me less than some of my bar tabs so i couldnt pass it up. did some searching online and stumbled across this site. gotta say im very impressed and inspired with alot of the builds on here. although i have put some basketcase dirtbikes back together, this will be my first street bike build. whenever i get building i'll start a thread cuz im sure i'll need alot of your help.
