Hey,

I wasn't to sure where to put this but I am just curious what type of helmet all you guys have? I am looking to get something more vintage to match the era of my bike. Show me what you got(and maybe where you got it)!

Hey there's actualy a helmet thread buried in here somewhere.

Dr J is the man with the vintage lids.
Personally I like a more modern full face for safety.

I've been running Davida puddingbowls for over a decade now. Pic? Check my introduction submission in that section.

By the way, they really work. Back in '98 I was hit by a truck, bounced my head off the pavement, broke my collarbone, and the helmet did it's job just fine.

Since school is in session I stay in town with my riding. I have a Nolan N30. Got it for around $120. I'll get a Shoei full face for out of town highway riding. The n30 comes in a lot of flat colors. Well made and good looking.

I LOVE THOSE HELMETS!!!! Unfortunatly I live in Pittsburgh, where theres no Nolan dealers (at least that ive found so far). I wont buy a helmet without trying it on, so online sales are outta the question. Have to keep searching. Theres a new Vespa dealership that Ive heard may sell them.

It's a great in town helmet. It's comfortable and feels good. NOt bad for the price I paid. I ordered mine off the JC Whitney website. I wear a 7 3/4 hat if that means anything for sizing. It's not snug or loose on me. It's okay on the bypass but starts whistling and howling above 50mph. Fulmer has a really great vintage line out now with great metal flake colors and cool shields. I really dislike modern helmets.

I run a modern full-face, but am looking at getting one of these for around town and shorter trips:

To me it screams cafe, with a hint of fighter pilot thrown in the mix as well. Its called the Tom-Cat from TSS, it runs AUD$160 here so figure less than that in American dollars.

This is the lid I run at the moment in all its sleazy, offensive glory:

Note the leopard print lining hahaha... Its got some neat pinstriping effects plus the girls, and despite me thinking it was a bit tacky when I bought it, people often ask me where I got it and what model it is.

I couldn't run a vintage helmet to be honest, sorry guys. I'm all for the modern technology, even more so after a mate had a bad accident. He's fine now, up and about and himself and everything...but he's literally a million-dollar man! Damn lucky.

Anyway, cheers guys - boingk
