What's the biggest douchebag move you've seen on a bike?

rays650cafe

No quarter given, none taken.
On the way to Wenatchee this afternoon I watched this rider with a large group,( betcha cant guess what brand of bike they were on) stop on a highway. Across the incoming traffic lane (ours). And park his fucking bagger there so the whole group could cross traffic w/o stopping. The wife had to stop pretty hard to keep from hitting him. No apologies, nothin. Just parked there with a stupid shit eating grin on his face. I can't get over these assholes that think they're part of a pack, but in all actuality they're really sheep. It pissed me off, we have a hard enough time on the road w/o fucksticks like this. And as an added bonus, the kids got to see me revert to someone they don't need to see. I used to sling a little stuff for real bikers in the 80's. not intimidated by these wannabe assholes. I don't think there was a real biker in the whole bunch. Weekend warriors the lot. Sorry just needed to vent. Many assholes where your at?

Nope. There are people here who dress up on the weekend, and people who ride in flip flops, but I just give 'em a wide berth. Seems to work out okay.

Go to the Harley dealer, buy a new Harley, buy every accessory that says Harley Davidson on it, it's your one-stop shop for cool.

Riding lessons? Hah! If they don't offer it at the dealer, you don't really need it do ya?

Of course you're a hard-core pack of drifters. I can tell by your fresh shave, lack of hobo gear, and credit card that you live on the edge. Oh, have to get home early because work in the morning? But of course. You can only play dress up when the ole employment allows such time.

When I had my CB550, it was packed down with everything I needed to live on the road. You want to know what a biker smells like? Here's a hint, nothing like fresh never-sweated/slept-on leather.

If I expected to get by, it was going to be with only what I had. This included many jugs of oil, fuel, water, loads of tools, blankets and clothing stacked so high you'd think it was a bag of bodies, non-perishable foods, the trusty ole swanee-braai (paper-burning grill), toiletries not worth mentioning, spare parts, protection (legal or otherwise), spare boots and jackets, and an ole flare gun, which never got any love... :'(

Drive off on a freeway with no destination and no idea where it leads without informing employers and the wife and without any plans to come back or where you're going to stay at all and without damn motel rooms (thats cheating! >:( ) then, when you smell like sun-baked cow carcasses and your hair is so shaggy your helmet no longer fits, then young poseur, you may call yourself a biker.

*sigh* Now I want to sell this damn CL350 and go back to life on the road :-\ Jobs and houses are over-rated.

This is standard procedure for escorting a large group of cycles.

I'm afraid that it is YOU being the douchebag in this situation. Sorry.

Standard procedure? Yes; totally illegal and stupid? Yes. The only circumstance in which it is legal to block traffic on a public street to keep your group together like that is if it's a funeral. What you guys don't have harley hurses where you're from?

To answer the original question: Here in Milwaukee (epicenter of all harley dbagness) the harley guys have started carrying whips to flog cars with, one last week i saw one particularly bright fellow who lets his drag and dangle from his handle bars, trailing well behind the bike, on the same side as his exposed drive belt.

Those have been around since the 1970s. Used to be just for officers and enforcers of 1%er clubs, and then like everything else "outlaw", the weekend pretenders decided it was a "cool" thing and took it as their own.

Latest "craze" is a blacked out full face helmet while on a Harley. I rather doubt that the doctors, lawyers and other weekend pretenders know the reason behind it... hiding yourself from easy recognition by law enforcement or rival clubs.

When I bought my last late model (93 Wide Glide) in 1994, I wouldn't even accept a one year free membership to H.O.G., a bunch of "straights" playing dress up in fake colors. The dealership was appalled, doubly so when I walked over to my truck and got my 1/2 shell, strapped on a side arm, and put on my earned colors... other than random parts, haven't done business with the motor company since then.

I wonder what happens to these little "play-fort" clubs that have cute lil rockers and colors when they run into a real outlaw group. I bet it ain't pretty and the facade falls off quickly. And at some point I bet somebody "threatens" to press charges or call the cops XD

You talking the sissies from H.O.G. or the sissies that pass for Bandidos in the Seattle area (mostly accountants, teachers, car salesmen)?

I rode with an Angels nomad band, the pretenders usually got the hell out of the way...

Just cause this is typical doesn't mean it's legal OR right. Unless you have a police escort doing it, it's bullshit and YOU are the douchebag, not the fucking other drivers on the road that you just put in jeopardy.

If it's an outlaw gang, what can ya do?

Uh... Bandidos have a worse rep than the Hell's Angels, at least in 'stralia. I suppose if you want to wear the colors of a very VERY prideful and violent group, you may as well ensure that it won't end well, right?

I don't think Americans grasp how very not-cute and not-"cool" these gangs are. Maybe stay in Brisbane for a bit ;)

There are many assholes everywhere! Too many.

Sorry ADC most of the time, you're usually spot on. Not this time, we were on a highway not in town. Cars doing 60+ mph not 25. Someone could've rear-ended the cage I was in, possibly killing my family. Of course these people were WAY more important than that little fact.
BTW these cats looked nothing like the picture that Redliner posted. ::)

Well, maybe it was a poor circumstance at that particular intersection, but that IS standard procedure to ensure the safety of the group. For all you know, they might have had a permit AND police escort. I have seen it many times.

Yeah man I would have been livid.
Doubt I have stayed in the car.
Good on you for holding back.

No cops, to be seen anywhere. We were the first in line I watched him actually stop his horse and pedal it back to block the road. Besides if the cops were anywhere around I would have been arrested(or at least got a good talking to ;))for what I was sayin to the guy.
Not one of my more serenity filled moments.

This guy was all of 5'6 140 lbs soakin wet. I thought about stepping out and giving him a little shove. Just enough to overbalance the giant ass bike he was on.

It's extremely dangerous to have cars get mixed in with the ride group. That's why this method is used. While YOU may think they should be arrested for it, generally speaking, this is exactly the method that police use to escort a group. It takes several "blockers" to close intersections for the group. (As many as four.) After the group passes, that blocker will be at the end of the group. He will accelerate to the head of the line to take his position for the next intersection block.

It's all a carefully orchestrated process that keeps cars from getting mixed in with the group. I have been on group rides with as many as 100 bikes, and keeping the group out of harm's way is a difficult and important task.

I don't much care for group riding of more than a handful of bikes, but when circumstances call for it, the protocols for ensuring the safety of the group have to be carefully followed.

Kind of depends where in the US you are. The patch isn't what it once was.

We have an 'all clubs day' vintage show in Michigan every year - it's an interesting day. Funny to see the full patch dudes shooting the shit with the BMW MOA and the Norton club trading stories with the Cub club. :)

Still shitty behavior on the part of the guys who expect everyone to clear the road so they can go on a group ride. Not my problem if fifty people decide they want to ride together - split up the group, share the road.
