Which 17" Sticky Tire For My T500?

Ok guys, will be getting wheels powder coated and it's time to buy some tires. I don't know much about street tires as I have really only used slicks for racing so I am looking for suggestions. I don't want to break the bank buying tyres so I will be looking at moderately priced items ideally. I mostly used Michelin slicks for racing and have been happy with them, but their street tyres seem to be pretty expensive. Are there different compounds of road tyres?

Tyres will be going on my T500 trackday bike but I have to use road tyres as it will also see a little bit of street riding. Bike will weigh around 300lb and the tyres will be 160/17 or 150/17 rear and 120/17 front. I guess I am looking for a soft street tyre if such a thing is available. I am not too worried about what mileage it will yield.

Pirelli sport demons are pretty popular not sure if they come in that size. Those are wide tires for a t500? I liked avons roadriders a lot but got broke so i'm putting shinko 712 on my t500 in stock sizes or damn close to I'll let you know how those go

What size are your wheels John? 3.5" front and 4.5" rear?

I'm a long way off from buying tires, but want to keep an eye on this. Avon Roadriders come in the sizes up to 150/70 in the rear, but their Storm 2 tires are radial ply and come in mores sizes that might suite you.

oops. never mind, just noticed you are running different wheels. my stock t500 runs a 90-19 at the front and a 110-18 at the back

Pirelli diablo's. They are a DOT race tire. It's what i ran on the street tard and also used them when I first started racing. They are sticky as all hell and available in a 160.
All the sport bike yahoos use them as well, both big bikes and SV's (many of the SV's still run a 160 on the rearl) You need 2 70% of race pace warm up laps if you aren't using warmers. 300lb bike isnt that heavy so you can start around 32psi front and 30 rear and just make adjustments from there.

The only thing pirelli offers with more grip is the red strip slick and then of course the super bike slick.
