Winter riding and winter oil

The setting - I wanted to drive a short distance (about 3 miles) and park close to the swimming pool (indoor) in the evenings. Need to get out in the evening and it's winter.

The options - The CL350 seemed like the perfect bike to revive. (The Goldwing is a bit heavy in the snow.) So, fresh tires and a new battery with tender, we're good to go. Maybe a can of ether in reserve for when it gets colder.

Factors to consider - Recall it's minus 3 degrees centigrade ( about 26 F) in Canada now and it's only end of November.

My question - Mother Honda calls for 10w - 40

I'm thinking 0w - 40 is better. The CL350 is reported to be marginal on top end lubrication. Or is there a better suggestion? Don't do it ... is not among the responses to be considered.
