Hi everyone.

I am have been riding since I was 15. I have been riding sportbikes most of my life and my current bike is a 07 DRZ400SM. I recently bought 2 82 Yamaha XS400s. My plan is to build a cafe racer with one and a brat bike with the other. Both will be budget builds due to going back to school. Here are some pics of them as I picked them up.

This one will be the cafe bike.

This will be the brat bike.

Here is some pics of a tank I bought for the brat bike.

I bought the black bike for $250 and the red bike for $100. The tank cost me $30. I will post up these in a project thread also. I am hoping to have about $1000 in both bikes by the end.

Thanks guys. Hopefully if the weather ever gets nice I will see you out there. My current bike is a DRZ400SM. I love it except for the fact that it sucks on the freeway. The farthest I ever went on it was Dunville. It will be nice to be able to rip into T.O. whenever I want. Keep me posted on the meets. I would love to hook up for a ride, coffee, and bench racing.

Very cool. That is the plan for the spare parts bike. I had a hard time deciding which way to go so what is better than to have both. Did you build the frame yourself or did you buy a kit?

The black one is an 82 and the red one is a 79.

Yes, a crowded 3 block radius vs. long twisty country roads!! Do both at least once, we will be more than happy to have you join us "old men" putting some real miles on our rides while Noel shops ebay for his latest fashion accessories! ;D Sorry if that hurts your feelings Noel, but we all know "getting out of the city" for you means getting 30km from the Condo... ;D

I want to ride up by Parry Sound some time too. Maybe head up there for a weekend with a couple of days of riding. Just dying to get out right about now.

hey welcome im likin your road trips already ;D Real milage there. FYI, to visit Loco you need to trailer it down ;D dont bother takin it off, cause they will be back from there 3 klik bi-weekly cruze ???
