XS11 Chubby Chubby

Coast to Coast
Just took in a 79 XS11 Special on trade from a guy. Needs some work aesthetically but runs and rides great.

Good:
Runs
Stops
Good Suspension
Guage cluster and wind break
Complete
Fast!

Bad:
New Paint Job
Replace rear fender and tail light to original location

Ugly
Seat!!!
extend seat rails and hoop

So thats where it is at...should be a quick fix and back on the road.

I dont hate it but there are some scratches and areas that are faded...I may not keep the bike so I want to give it a bit more of a neutral look to help resale.

Got the title, reg, and insurance taken care of so decided to go for a quick hour ride...damn this chubby moves for a big girl! May be keeping this and selling the cb900. Got stuck in the rain tho...glad I put front fender back on :)

I'll be watching this.
I've always had mixed feelings about the Eleven.
Good old school bike - even "muscle-bike" - strong and robust engine that can be built to the hilt, UJM looks that can be cafe'd. It is heeeeavy!
...and why did they put that shaft drive there...???

Let's see what comes out of this. What are your plans gijoe?

A few ideas for inspiration, if I may:

Racers (not cafe)

Thanks for the ideas!

Actually with all the projects on the floor right now this will will be going back to close to stock for now. Longer seat (my fiance likes to ride and my cb900 needs shop time.), lift it back up. (lowered to far for handling), replace rear fender and light.

Then when the 900 is back and running I may go with more of a racer look. Although the 350 track bike gets first priority right now! :)
