XS650 Cafe Custom Project

I'm finally making some headway into my project and actually doing some documenting about it at my seldom-used blog page:

Yeah, it's a bit long, sorry.

I decided to do it there so a couple of friends can see as well as saving time and space in the couple of forums that might be interested in it. I really respect so many of the members here (and am vitally dependent on a few for such amazing info), that I'd love to hear what you think. Feel free to comment on it in this thread or on the blog page.

Got any pics of what you've got in mind? Sounds like you've got many hours of fun and frustration ahead.

I'm looking for something along the lines of these bikes:

Hopefully I can somewhat approximate the Deus level of craftsmanship as well. A guy can dream, right?

I've done a fair bit of fiberglass and foam-molding work, so the seat shouldn't be too difficult, and now that I've finished my diagram, the wiring will be a snap. The biggest frustration has just been working under a tight budget. So many little additives necessitate other little additives to work!

I'm going down to Sydney in a couple of weeks. One of the must do's is to go To Deus's shop in Parramatta. I've seen lots of pics but never one of their creations up close. Have you seen www.vanem.com.au ?
I love that minimalist look.
