xs650 fork disassambly

Trying to dismantle my forks to poish the bottom and replace the tubes. I can't get the tubes out. I have the oil drained, and the springs out. The hex bolt on the bottom just keep turning and turning and I don't see a circlip on the top to take off... Any suggestions?

shove a broomstick down the fork tube to hold the thing from turning on the inside...

works every time.
