XS650 rear hub donor?

I'm looking to ditch the mags of course. Swapping to a rear drum is easy. So is keeping the disc with a front hub. I have a lathe, large truing stand and a millng machine so making something reasonable fit can be done. But where to start if I can't locate a decent rear Yamaha hub? Any dirt bike fronts hubs that could be used with a disc?

Just asking for a few opinions on getting twinkly spokes on the rear. Front is sorted.
 
I haven't measured hub width or axle size yet but I think a Zook GS front wheel hub will works since the Yamaha disc has the same bolt pattern but a larger PCD so a shim can be made easily on the lathe to match the smaller PCD of the Suzuki GS 550 hub. Plus a rear 16 inch Excel rim to match the lovely front I found on the weekend will work.

If you're looking for a disc rear hub, you can convert an XS front hub to run on the rear - Omar's makes a kit which you can copy easily enough with a lathe. Many modern rotors will bolt up to the Yamaha hubs too.

I sorted out 2 Honda CB front hubs to run on my SR500. I used Honda hubs as the old flat track rims I had were 40 holers.

that is what i was tying to say ;)
on my 350 i am building up i am using a regular barnes 40 spoke spool with a cushion drive lashed up to it and a small disc rotor
 
I have a couple of Harley front hubs to use as rears, heavier duty and wider than XS front.
There is something about bolt in bearing holders I just feel weird about (the earlier spacers using stock bearing position have the bearings too close together in my opinion)
Tim, did you work out any kind of cush drive?
XS destroys drive chains pretty quick in my opinion
 
This is on my SR, and no, no cush drive. I haven't even got it running yet ;)

I have 3 bearings in the rear hub - the two stock positions and the sprocket carrier houses a 3rd, with the requisite spacers between them on the axle. The whole assembly along with the brake rotor is sandwiched together with 6 long bolts or threaded rod with nuts on both ends.

I suppose if I wanted, I could have the holes in the sprocket carrier enlarged for rubber bushings to go over the bolts to get a cush drive effect, but it's not something I've troubled my brain with yet. I should've stuck with the stock SR mags, but no..... I had to get stupid and put a GSXR front end on and run these spool hubs front and rear.
 
i am using the left side of a DT250 yamaha hub cut off and lashed on get a 3rd bearing close to the swinger that way and a nice cush drive i really dint like the idea of not using a cush drive, the cb350 trans is pretty delicate the shock loading would be a worry
 
Yeah my XS360 sits here mocking me with a perfectly good rear hub sitting idle. I live where on most maps there are dragons in the water. Not a lot to choose from and shipping/exchange can be horrendous. Getting creative is rewarded.
 
I got a yz rear disk hub and spokes for a 18 the hub has new bearing and a 40 tooth sprocket
