Yamaha RD 350 pilot jet issue

Hey gang, first timer here. I've been cleaning some nasty carbs and had a stuck pilot jet. I stripped the head and had a bike mechanic try to back it out with no luck. Finally managed to hack it to pieces with a flat head screwdriver, so it's out now. My issue now is that the new pilot jet just spins free in place because the carb threads were torn up. How can I save it? My gut tells me that the seal around the edges is fairly good, but I think it will fall out with engine vibration. What should I do? My first instinct is to use some kind of Loctite. Advice would be welcome!

just a drop of red loctite should do it
get it all super clean and trun the carb upside down so you can put some weight on it whilst it hardens overnight
is the jet up inside a hollow?if so then a piece of brass tube could be used,or a short stiff spring, cross drill and pin to hold the spring or tube
