YSR250

Stuck a PE30 carb from nibbi on. It seems to be the go to for these engines. New intake lets the carb sit level and leaves room for a filter.

This is a fun build to walk in to. Gives me inspiration to get one myself. LOL
 
Lol, thanks. It should be fun. I'm planning on a 3 inch extension on the swingarm, it'll help make it a little more stable, the rear wheel will look better placed, and it'll help keep the front down. With roughly 4x the power it'll probably benefit from it.

That should help. We're pulling all the groms from our MSF fleets here because they are so unstable that accidents keep happening in exercises like cornering and emergency braking, a few inches of wheel base would make them way better.

I wanted a grom until I rode one. A buddy 125 scooter will absolutely smoke a grom to 45mph. Plus I would need taller bars or I feel like the bars will hit my knees.

I got the triple clamps pretty much finished, and I now have a template to get all the measurements to fit the bybre caliper on the front.

Slowly working on things. Replaced my tool cart with a 42" box, so the cart is being turned into a welding cart. Made a fork disassembly tool for the grom forks. And finally making the permanent caliper bracket.

Caliper adapter is done. Picked up the wheels from powder today. I'll mount tires and double check chain clearance before finishing frame fabrication. Then the frame will go for power, it'll be silver.

Front mount is almost redone. Had to scoot the motor over 1/4" for chain to tire clearance. Luckily the rear mount just had to be unbolted and flipped. Added bonus I'll have more room for running the exhaust this way.

Front mount just needs the remains of the cradle welded on. That way I keep any strength it added and keep the lower fairing mounts.

Shock mount is ready to be welded onto the swingarm too. So it's getting close to being able to sit on its wheels.

Looks good so far. I hear doo things about those OKO carbs. [[EDIT: I should have looked to page 2 before speaking... I've seen but not looked too closely at the Nibbi carbs. I'll be interested to see if it works well for you or not. ]]

Nibbi seems to be the go to for these zongshen engines. I've seen good aboutthe OKO carbs too. But I went with Nibbi since there is a ton of jetting info for the 30mm on the zs172 engines.
