1975 CB400F Project "Replacement Girlfriend"

Carbs assembled!
Tomorrow is a day filled with soda blasting and paint! This should help with the blasting :D

Did you sort out your main spring? There is a small round spindle between carbs two and three on which the spring hooks.

Yeah once I had it all together I found that stupid little part in a bag and a lightbulb went off. Had to take the carbs back off the body but no big deal its fixed now.
My caps and float bowls are only okay looking and with as much work as I'm doing on this thing I want them perfect, so into the blaster and the paint booth they go.

Thanks,
It's an 80 gallon and at 26 cfm at 90 (17 at 175) it's enough to keep up with just about anything!

Just did the math and the compressors pumping out 21.9 cfm from 125 to 175 psi.
Back in the day they actually made things to live up to the hype. Not like today's compressors where a 60 gallon "5hp" is putting out 6 cfm.

So not only are you rubbing in the damn good deal on the bike. Now the damn good deal on a good compressor.

I hate you......No really I do. 8)

PS.I have ordered stainless bolts from them as well. I like how the bags are marked.

Haha sorry!
If it makes you feel any better I haven't gotten to really use it as I ran out of soda.
Found a local guy that has some but douche hat wants 60 bucks a bag for it. I have to drive an hour to HF to get more

Same thing happens to me as my aluminum oxide get low. My compressor is only 26 gallons and has a hard time after about 5 minutes of using my blast cabinet. I would love to score a compressor like yours for that kind of deal. Plus.....old tools are just damn cool and well made.

Yeah I'm really happy with it.
Only problem is that the start up amps are a bit high, so my rotary phase converter fails to start it when it's real cold, but I found that if I pull the little pressure release valve on the pump and let it spin up for about 5 seconds it runs like a top.

That's even cooler. Your the only one who knows how to start the damn thing! No friends are going to be trying to use it. ;D

Can someone please tell me how to remove the oil pressure switch from the upper case?

The reason I'm wondering:

I am in love already.
A good blasting, a good cleaning, 2 minutes of spraying, and 25 minutes in the oven and I have beautiful powdered carb parts.

Up next is the cases, but I can't figure out the oil pressure switch removal, it's the last rub we bit in my way

Bottom case done

I call my first foray into powder a great success! Much easier than paint and if you screw up you just wipe it off before baking it and do it again its awesome.

Figured out the oil pressure switch, it's just a press in, I had to turn it with some pliers to break it free and the I was able to press it out.
After a shit ton of prep work and taping:

Which pressure switch? The one on top of the oil pump?
