not a cafe, but it is old! fighter style gs750ef

That bike is sooo sharp. Keep the headlight minimal. Looks so tough! Im beginning to hate headlights, really weakens a frontend like that. Great bike!

Diggin it!!!!
Very cool, very edgy, kinda starting your own style!!!!
Very creative body style!!!!!!!!

This thing looks great! After my dirtbike gets built, and my roadbike gets a thorough testing, and my tiddler race bike gets raced a few times....

...then I'm definitely building something like this! Are you planning on doing much else to it handling/performance-wise or is this pretty much the final product sans lighting? Also, what final mainjets did you settle on?

One of the guys I work with got some metal grinding dust in his eye and just ignored it. Until it actually started to rust in his eyeball.

Oh, right. Well, I hope he knows that the procedure for that is to go to a doctor and have them DRILL it out. No joke. The ring will be there for some time, if not permenantly. Go see a doctor early guys, it'll be relatively painless and definitely worth it. FWIW, I find the best protection is a welders mask with the UV sheild raised. And this coming from a guy who welds in flip-flops, hahaha.

Cheers - boingk

Thanks for the comments guys!

Headlight brackets are almost complete
WAY beefier than they need to be, but at least they wont break.

its VERY simplistic, looks very clean. I don't want to post pictures until its 100% complete, hopefully tomorrow.
Other than that I still need to fabricate the exhaust, and im looking into other swing arms with much wider tires.

hahaha, yea, me too!
I built that car in less time than its taking me to build this bike, and that thing was a nightmare.

i got my new set of headlight brackets today, if you want the old set they're yours for the taking.

So the headlight brackets are done, and the bike is pretty much wired, just have to tuck everything away now.
here are the updated pics.
exhaust is on now, I'm TEMPORARILY using the stock passenger peg to mount it until i make a bracket.
hoping to take it for a spin tomorrow.

I finally have the thing going in what appears to be a somewhat reliable state.

Just picked up a R6 swing arm and wheel. Hope to have it on by the end of the month.

We had a bit of fun yesterday in the machine shop. Dip has gotten it into his head that a modern swingarm is a must. So with spare gs750ef and new r6 units in hand we made the trek to my brothers shop in Kitchener.

It was a fairly simple process, calculate how much to machine off the new arm (.625 a side) then index the arm to the head on the mill and cut away....it wasn't that easy because we were rushing and the arm moved 1/2way through the final side. 30 min of frustration trying to get it squared up again and we finished it off.

In the end, through no planning it worked out perfectly. The swingarms both have needle bearings in them, both have the exact same od and id. The r6 unit used a 3/4" wide unit and a 1/2" wide unit, the gs750 used 2 3/4" wide units, 25mm id. Once the final final pass was done on the mill we measured the depth left of the needle bearing "pocket" and sure as shit is was .500" each. All Dip needs to do now is just get that 1 bearing.

To finish the swap off, we cut down the r6 pivot bushing to 8.75" to match the new swingarm width and then machined the r6 bolt that feeds through it to fit the frame. I belive my brother added 2" of threads to it to make it work.

I'm sure Dip will get around to posting up pictures etc when he gets all the fab work on the bike done.

More pics of the shop (it's a hydraulic machine shop so it's a bit "messy"), sadly I forgot to snap a pic of the hone 18' long stroke!:

This bike is currently being parted out. If anyone is interested in any parts contact me. Motor is ticking. Frame, tank, seat, tailsection and swingarm available. R6 swingarm machined to fit is also available. GSXR front end is gone.
