Stript,
Did you get any feedback regarding rejetting? I am in the same boat that you were in in spring. I am searchign high and low for any information I can get to hone in on where to start.
Post up if/when you get a chance.
Hey D20,
Have you had the bike running yet? I am interested in what you have found with respect to carb tuning. I am running the stock keihen's (sp?) and am reading a lot about rejetting due to open exhaust and pod filters. I am now thinking about running the shorty mufflers like the ones...
Got the bugs ironed out, also got the LEDs bulbs mounted in the headlight bucket and Tail light. SuperbrightLEDs.com is where I went for the bulbs. Had a problem initailly with the H4 LED bulb for the headlight, clocked it 90 degrees, and it runs like a champ. The rear fits into the orginial...
I just received my superbrightleds headlight and tail light LED bulbs. I installed them and the rear comes on fine and is exactly what I was looking for. The front on the other hand only comes on when you switch the power from one to off. when it does turn on it only stays on for a split...
The calculation is voltage (Volts) x current (Amps) = power (watts)
so 12V x __ = 35W
Solve for __
35W/12V= __
__ = 2.9177777 Amps
Same goes for the 55/60W higher current bulb
55W/12V = 4.5833 Amps
60W/12V = 5amps
Note taken on the fusing for something with so much current draw.
Does anyone know if there is a H4 bulb with a lower wattage than 55/60? Or another series bulb that fits into the same footprint as a H4 that requires less power (wattage)?
I have not gotten a chance to do the testing...
One thing I forgot to mention in my first post is that the head light is an H4 bulb. I am going to wire a switch in line so that I can turn this on only when needed. I believe it draws a bunch of current form some oehter posts I have read.
I am running a 12V 2.3Ahr battery, if this makes any...
Here's the link to the schematic I used from Motofaccione's site.
http://www.motofiaccone.com/moto/39-cb360-cafe-racer/88-hiding-cafe-racer-batteries
Upon the multiple tests that I ran while the bike was not running but with ignition on, the lights worked fine, front and rear brake indicator...
ALRIGHT!
Luckily I have a CB350 in line to be gone through and it had plugs in it, I hooked that bike up to the battery charger and tested the point, they looked as if they were firing off well so I pulled the plugs and tested them by hitting the e-start and holding the plug against ground...
I believe these to be XS650 coils that I bought at a swap meet last fall. I am getting fuel and compression on both cylinders and I am unsure of the spark situation... hence the post.
So on to the measurements:
Continuity:
From brown to orange - 4.4ohms
From orange to mounting posts - open
From...
