I went and looked at his collection. It was ridiculous. All kinds of rare bikes. I also found out he recreates molds for cast parts on old British bikes, and sells them all over world. Really cool guy.
I agree. But sometimes I like the bikes that show their age, gracefully. The RE doesn't particularly hit that mark.
I appreciate all the input from everyone though. Definitely good to get second and third opinions since I'm prone to impulse purchases.

I wouldn't pay $2500 for it, that's for sure. But it was listed for sale back in November of last year, so I assume he'd be more willing to negotiate after this much time. Here's a link to some guy talking...

He says it isn't. Co-worker of mine knows him, says he's an old school straight shooter with about 20 or more other old bikes for sale. I'm trying to get over to his garage this weekend to see the unrestored...

The one I had used previously, closed on January 1st of this year but there is another local one called Riggs Machine Shop. They have a website but it's pretty bare bones, not sure what kind of work they really do, I know they do a lot of fabrication for industrial facilities...
