Suddenly I'm doubting my new build

Probably. But, that's half the fun.

    prepping chrome rims for powdercoat

Yeah, don't worry about it. Your powder guy will blast them and acid dip them. Even if you do a great job prepping them yourself, he'll still have to make sure they're 100% clean right before they get powdered, so you might as well let him do everything. For chrome, the blasting roughs them up...

    Sunday Rides

I like the fact that we get to push it a little bit on our Sunday rides. When I out alone to ride my little area of the world, I tend to push it as well, but with a group, I know that if something should happen, I won't be sprawled out in the woods or in a ditch waiting for someone to find me...

    Powdercoating Prep?

Powder coat is some pretty good stuff. I don't see why you'd have to worry about flaking or chipping. If you have it done right, it shouldn't be a problem. If you're having in done professionally, your coater will mask everything that needs to be masked before laying on any powder. Whenever I...

    Cafe Seat

I have that DCC for my 750, and I love it. Mounting it was a pain in the ass though. For the 550, I went for a steel seat from HOF and had them provide the upholstery as well. I really like the way that one's turning out. If I did it again, I'd go with the steel for both projects.

    Bike shifts without pulling clutch

That's the case on most - if not all - bikes. When the engine isn't running and there's no load on the clutch, you should be able to transition between gears without using the clutch.

    Engine work recommendations

Check our DMC near Tryon and Gorman in south Raleigh. They definitely do cylinder work, and I've heard they have a fairly quick turnaround time.

    Rim lacing

This one's pretty good: http://youtu.be/ENrRl2FyNTw It's a small Honda, but it's exactly the same pattern as a CB550/750 etc.

    Shaving Cb750 triple trees.

I'd take it to your local machine shop and have them mill it down. Really fast and not very expensive. You'll end up with a much smoother finish than if you grind it yourself. I had it done to the 550 top clamp, and it turned out really nice.

    Ok whats this for?

I'd say a stand too, but where do those nobs go? Plus, only a foot tall? Scooter?

    The Truth what is it?

The Ducati definitely reads over; as much as five mph at city speeds and more than 10 at highway speeds. This was tested and verified after I began to wonder why other people drove really fast, but only when I was on the bike.

What do you CB350 guys use as a fork brace?

Fast From the Past http://www.fastfromthepast.com/servlet/the-Fork-Braces-cln-Honda/Categories I use one on my CB750 and CB550. You can barely tell they're there - plus, if you're using boots, the boots slide right over them.

    Would you buy this bike?

It definitely screams "Potential!" But, I'm a Ducati owner, so I'm a little partial. I've built a few Hondas, but I've never been brave enough to dig into a Duc project. Hopefully, one of these days...

What do you use to clean rusty tanks?

    POR-15 Tank Kit.
