Are CB360 carbs compatible with a CJ360 ???

Just checked the battery voltage. Its down to 12.2 at idle but stays constant at 5000 rpm, only occasionally dropping to 11.9. Is there any truth to what he said about the battery or plug caps being a possible cause of the popping?
