I'm in the process of upgrading the stock headlight to a H4 unit. Planned to add relays and a new fuse box from the get-go as I was pretty sure the switch cubes and wiring wouldn't handle the inceased ampage from my experience with classic cars.
Currenty half was through but I'll try and post...
Hello all,
Not done been near the bike a lot recently (living a couple hours from home due to uni) but made a couple of changes last time I was home.
Saw an original Dream 50 while at Motorcycle Live in November and one thing large difference that struck me between this and our Aces was the...
Done to replace tyres and to replace an inner tube that got a puncture. Deflate inner tube first, then I just used a tyre iron (any longish, strong, blunt lever would do) to work the tyre off of the rim one side at a time. Exactly the same as changing a bicycle tyre, only takes a little more grunt.
I think in less then 1200 miles I've gone through 3, maybe 4, headlight bulbs. Thought the issue might lie with vibrations as I've lost nothing else, but I have replaced the rear with an LED unit. Have a H4 headlight to fit when I'm home again now, hoping it turns out to be a little hardier or a...
I've had a similar issue with the seat, not cross threaded it but the metal of the tab has started to chew away at the bolt on the worst side from being taken in and out.
Would it be possible to rotate the silencer around so the bracket is on the back? Mine has the same type of bracket, I just had to swing the downpipe out a bit more.
Hi Everyone,
Small question, fitted my new silencer last week to the de-catted down pipe. Before bike had larger jets in carb, pod air filter and the EGR kit removed. She hit 65mph topping out and wasn't struggling into the high 50's.
However with the new silencer the bike will not run off of...
Hi Guys,
I've purchased this silencer http://www.feked.com/universal-flat-end-motorcycle-silencer-27-35-40mm.html but haven't gone about sorting a down pipe for it yet.
I was wondering if de-catting the standard exhaust and cutting it to size would be any less effective than ordering...
Hi Haz,
I believe that both (-ve)s should be spliced straight into the ground wire on the bike, it is the solid green wire that runs from most things on the front end, lights and switches etc. to the battery. The black (+ve) I would wire into the ignition switch or a wire coming from it so...
Hi all,
Wanted to give my bike its first oil change at the weekend, don't have the handbook on me I was just wondering what type of oil people have been using and how much should I expect it to take? Also any other tips for the first change?
Many thanks,
Ricky
Hi Nedskiee,
If you didn't want to move the battery I installed the ooracing kit by cutting the air box up to retain the side with the battery mounting points. Leaves plenty of air space around the filter and the plastic feels durable enough so I do think it's going to give in any time soon...
Hi Hazza,
Might be able to shed some light, sorry if it has been a bit over simple. This is also from memory so if I've made any mistakes please correct me.
1st would thing would to be disconnect the throttle and choke cables. The cap for the throttle just screws off and the return spring and...
