it was a great styling exercise for hd but unfortunately most everything made in the amf years suffered from horrible quality control.
if i was going to ride any amf bike it would definitely be this one.
i actually had a friend whose father owned the local harley dealer and he got 3 of those...
not all evo sportsters are rubber mount or belt drive.
rubber mounted engines weren't available til 2004 and belt drive wasn't standard til 93.
my vote is for the 88-90 1200 model w/chain drive and teeth rattling solid mount engine.

its amazing to think that these are the same bikes, even same year as the bike burt monroe used to build his record setting 'worlds fastest indian' which broke the 200mph mark, even if not on an officiated run.
i wonder how fast they got those things back then.

i had the same problem but i actually needed both of them. bike came with no jet holders or jets.
unfortunately i ended up having to buy another set of carbs to get them.
hope you have better luck than i did.
when i worked in a shop i nor-cal i saw pics of a guys station wagon that'd had a full bagger harley dragged over its hood and roof to get it outta the garage where he parked it.

actually i think his first film role was as the sado-masochist dental patient in the original 'little shop of horrors' which was almost 10 years earlier. he did alotta tv and a spattering of movies between the 2. my favorite being the andy griffith show :o
