    Those mount to the passenger peg brackets, which are different from standard to Special.

    I usually weld a bolt or nut in the middle of one bearing, and knock it right out. Once the first one is out, it is easy to get the second one.

    Here is a quick way to do a clean brushed look on aluminum you don't want to polish. Give it a light sandblasting. Use wax and a scotchbrite pad to rub it out. The lighter one isn't rubbed out with wax yet. Done.

    I like Noxon 7 metal polish for making old chrome look decent. Waxing it afterward will slow the rust from returning. For very rusty or peeling chrome I'll sandblast and paint. The chrome doesn't need to be completely removed if it isn't peeling or flaking, but just roughed up for paint...

    xs650 disc: 73/76 vs 77+

    The hub is the same. The difference is the rotor offset from between '76 and older 34mm forks with two piston calipers, and '77 and up with 35mm forks with single piston calipers.
