New wood stove adventures, cost and who out there burn pallet wood?

Check with your insurance company before installing a wood stove in the garage...I just had to remove mine, (in Maine), after having it for four years. Would not have known if a friend told me that it was "illegal", called my agent, said no wood heaters in garages were allowed, asked about...

2014 Yamaha SR400 coming to USA - Kiskstart only

I wonder if the main stream American rider will accept a kick start only bike, @400 cc's I think most entry level riders will desire electric start.

What is the temp in your shop?

Yessir, RCR, rubbed it in real good....got the shop to 65 today, not to bad, just the wood stove (it has a magic heater in the stove pipe, which helps). Went to Home Depot today and got insulation kits for those three aluminum heat exchangers I call doors, on clearance too! Installed when I got...

What is the temp in your shop?

Hoosier, we used to have earlier generations of that style heater at work. They had a pilot that was lit, then the pilot heated a capillary tube that had to reach a certain temp before the main burner would go. Thru a copious amount of heat though. We would have to tent off pieces of...

What is the temp in your shop?

It is 26 degrees in my 30x40 shop, do not think I will try to warm it up today (even tho I have the day off). Wood for the stove is buried under a foot of snow and an inch of ice on top of that. Tomorrow is going to be milder, I think, but a chance of more snow. So come on, you southern guys...

    Music to wrench to

I saw a youtube vid at one time that had Nicky Hayden and Friends on super motards that was over dubbed by the song born to slow , by Crystal Method. When I want to get cranking, that is the song I start with

    Hip, or Hipster...You Decide...

Re: Hip, or h*****r...You Decide... I find the same issue with the wood stove, spend all of the time stoking it or huddling beside it. Got a magic heater just recently from Northern Tool, fits in the stove pipe, works pretty good...wood stove keeps the pot of kimchi warm for supreme leader....

    Hey

Mr Yinzer, I have a great affection for the RD 350, as it was the first motor cycle I owned. Up to that point, a friend had a CB 350 that he let me ride on occasion. Imagine the difference when I went to the used bike dealer and test rode an RD. The sales man warmed it up for me, and then told...

    Hey

Hey, thanks, Mr. Cookie, a build thread will have to wait, as I am no quicker than a three toed sloth. I am not timed by a stop watch, but rather a calendar. Mr. Ard, here is the story of how these mechanical heartaches became mine. About 15 years ago, a fellow at work said he had a cycle he...
