I got a new bike last week. I needed something newer to drive to work once in a while. 04 Honda 599, nice bike has a really useable power band on it. new one and old one can you guess which is which? ;D I need to get some barend mirrors for the new bike. the ones on there now suck!

Does anyone know if a tank off of a 78 xs1100 will fit on a 79 xs650? I'm sure there will be some mods to make it fit, but I just want to make sure it is possible before I get one. Thanks for any help. ;D

For anyone with a Yamaha XS, I found this seat on http://www.mikesxs.net/. I want it ! Just have to make sure my bike runs before I lay down the cash. ::)

How about this tank. Looks like it would fit. It is a little longer than the stock tank. The current bid is $76, might be a little higher than I want to go. It's a nice looking tank.

Does anyone know what tank will fit on a 79 Yamaha XS 650? I don't want to do to a lot of mod to make it fit, but I would like to get good looking cafe type tank. Thanks for any help. :)

I like your set-up. If I can find the right brake light I think I will be fine. I bought my some mini lights. hooked them up and one row of the L.E.D.s don't work. >:( Pain in my arse!

Thanks! it's far from perfect, but not to bad for the first time working in fiberglass. Plus it is alot better than paying $200 + for one. I like the way your seat turned out too. I want to add a number on the hump. Partly cuz it looks good, mostly to hide any flaws. :D That might work, but...

O.K. I have a couple pictures of the bike. I still need to make the seat, but for the pictures I just put the vinyl on it to show the color. I would like to paint the whole bike now. All black. Looks good, but I need to change my turn signals bad! It looks like a kid with huge ears. LOL...

I have the FG mounted on the bike now (have to take pictures still) I was lucky, I was able to use the stock lock and hinges by mounting them to a sheet of metal I'm using to reinforce the FG. I had to put a picture of the uncut foam on the bike. ;D it looked to funny. Yeah, I just used the foam to make the shape. The hump is hollow now. If I would do it over, I wouldn't use the foam. Clay or something more moldable would be better. I have a piece of metal I'm using for the seat pan...

I'll post some pics of the seat as soon as I can. I was going to go the old gas tank route for the hump, but my buddy had an idea to use expanding foam and shape it the way I want then fiberglass it. I'm at lot better at sculpting than I am working with metal. Here's my bike as it looks now.
