Also, sorry for the sideways pictures. I turned my camera down to the lowest quality and they still turn sideways. What is the best way to go about cleaning the pistons and valves?

Got the head off today, in order to switch the valve springs around. Got a good look at the top of the pistons and the bottom of the valves. There is definitely a fair bit of carbon on both! What does everyone think?

Hey all I am having a really hard time sourcing a new headlight assembly. I am looking for either a 5 3/4 or 7" headlight assembly with a 35/35w bulb. I have been searching for a while now and can't seem to find anything. Dime city has a whack of headlights but they all seem to be 55/65w bulbs...

I can't tell if there was a previous helicoil attempt yet. The hole is dark and deep and I don't have the top cover off yet. Once I get it off then Ill let you know.

How would you do it with a motorcycle engine? I have a carbon fibre catamaran sailboat that I have put helicoils in using an epoxy resin.

Here is something interesting I found today. A completely loose bolt in the top cover. It will not thread into anything. It just sits there. I think it is proper length as I compared it to the other 4 corners and it's identical. It feels like it's too small for the hole it's in. Weird. Pics...
