Fulmer AF-81 carbon fiber helmet. Size Large. Few scratches and stuff never been in a wreck. Throwing in the eBay goggles as well. $80 obo or trade for Suzuki gs750 parts. Located in Sevierville, TN. Text is best 865-406-1420.
Probably a long shot but it is fairly rare so who knows. 1988 FZR750RU. Only 200 of these things made. This one is #169. Missing a lot of oem parts, pretty much impossible to find them however fzr1000 stuff from '87-'88 interchanges. Factory race bike Yamaha had to build 200 to be eligible for...
Hey guys hopefully posting this in the correct section. I'm making a yoshimura "clone" exhaust pipe I guess you'd call it for my GS750. I want to recreate this logo. Making it is no problem but I'm not sure the material to use. Would vinyl live well here or some other material?
Traded my little cafe racer for this two days ago. Wanted a bigger engine and a passenger seat for the wife. A little newer than I would've like but the 80s styling is growing on me. Wanting to clean it up and make it look like a vintage yoshimura bike they built back then. Anyway here's the...
My gs550 has recently been blowing the fuse for the brake lights. I ran all new wiring to the front and rear switches trying to solve it. Now only the rear switch works. I assume if I touch the two wires for the front together it'll light up? If so they do not work somehow. am I missing...
I've been looking into using HEI modules to replace my ignitor on my GS550. Here's the information:
Has anyone else ever done this? Can't find a lot of information on it. Seems simple enough and I've already got the parts laying around.
My next question is the ignition coils themselves. I...
Ok so last week I decided to do a solo trip through the mountains. I took the bike to The Dragon and Cherohala Skyway the week before so I wasn't too concerned about breaking down. I did however pack basic tools in my tank bag and rode off. I had put about 100 miles on it and everything was...
The gas cap has a Yamaha logo on it. The only numbers I can find is M20 6501. I always stare at this and one day really want to grab it up. Google hasn't brought up anything for me.
The GS is dormant for the winter and I want to replace the clutch. I noticed is started slipping before getting stored and while it's probably the clutch cable (replacing that too) I feel like doing as much as I can to it. My question is since it wasn't slipping bad at all should I be able to...
Ok this is my first dive into messing with suspension and have decided to get progressive springs for my GS550. Ive emptied the fork oil, removed the dual springs that were in mine. Fork oil level and the spacer are my concern. Should I just fill it up until it reaches 140mm from the top which...
I'm currently building an adapter plate to run an oil cooler on my GS550. I'm going to the local salvage shop today to find one and was just wondering if size mattered in relation to flow and pressure? I assume as long as the lines are the same size it doesnt matter? Any information on this will...
Just got my GS running well and seeing about some people to ride the devils triangle, dragon, hell anything in the mountains really. Only friend I've got with a motorcycle has his in a million pieces.
Well the bike has been running well but been too scared to go far. Well that ended today. Here's a map of the route I took.
At the top of the mountain
All in all about 160 miles of 9% elevation, switch backs, and a kick ass vintage motorcycle museum. Hell of a day.
Pretty self explanatory. Previous owner for whatever reason has masking tape on the chrome I didn't see, rode a couple of miles and its burned into the muffler. Short of scraping it with an exacto knife and scratching it, any chemicals come to mind that will remove it without hurting the chrome?
Going to my favorite salvage shop searching for a front fender for my GS550e today. Any suggestions on some cool looking vintage ones? They have thousands of UJM motorcycles to choose from.
Hey guys I'm needing some opinions on this issue I'm having. If the bike sits for over a few hours its almost impossible to restart. Turns over acts like ive got no fuel. Spray a shot of starter fluid in and she fires right up like she should. I've replaced the petcock, cleaned the carbs, new o...
Ok everyone I've got an '80 GS550 with Mikuni BS32's. Once warm it Idles fine. Not sure of the rpm since there is no tach but it sounds right. If I go riding for a few minutes when I come to a stop the idle is too low. I'll adjust it up a bit and continue on then the next time I stop its too...
What's up everyone my name is Nathan. Been a lurker on this forum for quite a while so figured I'd go ahead and sign on up. I'm a usually happy owner of a 1980 Suzuki GS550 I've basically resurrected from an idiotic previous owner trying to make a cafe bike with no money. It's still not finished...
