Alright here's a super late udate. The registration of a pre 1972 vehicle all you need is a bill of sale and to have owned it for over 1 year. They never issued titles with 1972 and older vehicles. So its just that easy! I'm currently sending a different bike through the Vermont system, I'll...
I'll check it out tomorrow. Its really nothing too important to me as I'm not restoring it, nor planning to sell it. Although it has become somewhat of a shop nickname... It'll be like finding out you've been misguided of your pets gender lol.
Only basing the sandcastness .....on the year. Could be misguided... But a few of the guys in my local motorcycle club seem to be sure it is. If there is something I should know that would tell me otherwise let me know
Bout to buy tires for my sandcast cb750 cafe project...wondering what size/ brand you guys are running as far as modern tires go. I'm pretty partial to pilot powers from my rocket days but was unsure how they would get along with tubes. Any input? Thanks!
I like and apriciate the look of a single sided swingarm but I'd worry about the flex on these old frames they are bad enough with dual shocks and factory swingarms. I'd love to know how it ides tho... For really no reason at all... Also would one of the old ducati tube style swingarms work...
Sup folks!
I've got a question regarding the stock top triple tree clamp. I've seen some top triple trees that look like the factory mounts have been cut off an de tabbed... I've searched and searched but can't seem to find any specifics has this been done by anyone on here? I like the look of...
The motor seems to be decent it's in parts wouldn't run bc the timing chain stretched was planning on doing a full scrambler build.... To get the thing rolling. Not legal and not pretty it would probably cost 200-300 dollars I would more than likely cruise between work and my shop all in same...
Hello I bought a yamaha sr250 or what we all thought was one only to find it was a sr 185 its in parts and the motor isn't running I was on the fence because the 250 is such small displacement now I'm almost on the other side of the fence should I build this bike should I part it out? Opinions...
just bought an SR 250, durrrt cheap. I'm looking to turn it into a dirt scrambler. the bike skipped timing and needs a new timing chain while there i am going to change the piston rings and register the bike in vt. so with gaskets it looks like i have 300 into the bike already. Has anyone seen...
im trying to get my 1972 cb 750 registered in ny. someone told me that all you need is a bill of sale on motorcycles pre 1975 also you need to show ownership for the past 4 years? if anyone has information on this please let me know! im not sure if it would be more advantageous to register in...
My other bikes are both dry sump drz400sm and a harley Dyna never really paid any attention just had to learn how to change the oil. Never had any interest in doing anything different with the oil system
These old bikes are mysterious to us I'm learning now from you...as will him from me. Are the stock tanks designed to regulate pressure? I understand the. Concept of the drysump but I guess have no clue what is so tricky about what it does?
Thank you for pointing my ambitions in the correct direction! I did just receive new(to me) oil lines today so I have a long time before worrying about having anything fabbed.
This is one of the main pics that got my mind ticking. Although its a dohc as far as I know they still have a dry sump? Again I'm only looking for information and easing my curiosity.
Check out Roland sands design he takes modern bikes and turned them into tracker/cafe style bikes all the time you should find a lot of inspiration there also be ready to do a lot of fiberglass metal work! Good luck, I love seeing modern bikes being changed so dramatically
