Hello I bought a yamaha sr250 or what we all thought was one only to find it was a sr 185 its in parts and the motor isn't running I was on the fence because the 250 is such small displacement now I'm almost on the other side of the fence should I build this bike should I part it out? Opinions are welcome!
Thanks

Any pictures? Does the motor turn over? Is it apart? Needing new piston or just rings and gaskets?....parting out a bike is a great way to fund another project or if you get in right you can sell the pieces for enough to get a decent project.....i have had more luck dragging home projects than i have had with brand new bikes

The motor seems to be decent it's in parts wouldn't run bc the timing chain stretched was planning on doing a full scrambler build.... To get the thing rolling. Not legal and not pretty it would probably cost 200-300 dollars I would more than likely cruise between work and my shop all in same town. I have a cb 750 that I would like to work on that will be a TON of work but I'm not sure I want to waste my time on a wimpy 185
