"NEIL" the CB250RS - Novice rural tracker build from the UK.

Sorry for my absence guys......been busy (hiding from you Aussies whilst the Rugby World Cup Was on) Back on this now. So far as my brake set up goes, I'm using a Brembo 2 pot from a CB500 and 276mm disc from a CB900 as it bolts straight on to the hub. I shall be making up a caliper bracket...

    Options for lightweight front rotor/disc's.

I've sent ISR my requirements.......I'll see what their price is. Although they have a PDF price list on their site and by my reckoning it looks competitive. Also I managed to land a Brembo Oro series disc, new from the outlet of a well known UK company.....half price. It's from a ZX6R, 320mm...

I don't suppose you weighed these before fitting did you?

    Options for lightweight front rotor/disc's.

I'm trying to source a new lightweight front disc for my project. Looking for something about 290-320mm, alloy centre and 5 hole fitting in a relatively tight circumference. Vented preferred but not wavey. My offset is about 26mm but I'll need to make an adapter so something fairly flat is...

"NEIL" the CB250RS - Novice rural tracker build from the UK.

Works well with a tail wind.... ;D I'm in the process of sorting my front brake disc and caliper options. Also managed to machine the front wheel spindle down by 90g (3 1/2oz) Talking of weight........I realised that I'd taken off one of the shocks and had not included it in the weigh in. It...

    My CX500 E racer - input needed

If you're building a cafe racer then seat hump is the way to go, clip on's and rear sets too. Personally I prefer the Brat. PS. welcome.

cb750 vs cb500/550 speedo drive plate

Looks correct to me, looks like part 9 keys into part 1, but I'm no expert and have not done this conversion and nor do I own either bike. Many Hondas of this era had many common parts, should be cheap enough to take a punt on should you not get any further responses.

    Honda Brake Disc's.......info wanted please.

Just offered everything up and the gods of luck are on my side. The offset is pretty much spot on, just need to find something in the Honda parts bin that's a bigger diameter. Anyone......bol d'or perhaps?

    Honda Brake Disc's.......info wanted please.

I'm currently in the process of fitting ZZR250 37mm forks, yokes and caliper to my CB250RS street tracker project. I'm keeping the original wheel which has a 250mm disc, the donor bike has a 276-280mm. Can anyone with a 70's-80's Honda with disc/s with the standard 5 hole mounting with a...

"NEIL" the CB250RS - Novice rural tracker build from the UK.

I wanted to see what the bike weighs in it's original form, so with the aftermarket tat removed I pushed her on to the scales. Front 57.3kg Rear 71.2kg Total 128.5kg (in old money that's Front 126.3lbs Rear 157.0lb Total 283.3lb) Not bad wet weight (oil & brake fluid) no fuel. Which...

"NEIL" the CB250RS - Novice rural tracker build from the UK.

First off is to sort out the front end. The stanchions are badly pitted. Having priced up re-chroming or new stanchions I've decided to bite the bullet and do a front end swap to something better, lighter with better brakes. But something that will go on relatively easy and allow me to use...

"NEIL" the CB250RS - Novice rural tracker build from the UK.

Hi Guys, been lurking on here for a while and picked up this a few months ago. ][ Yeah, I know...why? Simple, light, chuckable and cheap. That plan is to build a (legal) bike that's lots of fun and very ridable on the local roads in Norfolk UK which are often narrow, bumpy, twisty with the...

I must admit, the Acewell clocks look great, pricey though. I've given up any thoughts on using a cable drive speedo.

    Oh Bollocks.......speedo woes. Advice please.

Hi Guys, I've just been plodding away in the background, researching and buying the necessary parts to swap front ends on my CB250RSA, just waiting for my All Balls Racing order to arrive from Germany. All was going so smoothly, I knew the disc on the donor set up was mounted on the left side...

    1981 Honda CB250rs Cafe project

I've just bagged a proper workshop manual from fleabay, when it arrives I'll look to see if it confirms this, although I'm pretty sure 44t is standard. Changing the subject somewhat. Do any of you fellow RS owners have their front end in bits. I'm looking into the possibility of a front end...
