    Timing on a 76 CB200t

Shit, that sucks. I'm just fighting so much. I haven't had much time to work on it lately was hoping I could set the timing and be done with it. I've cleaned the carbs twice, set the tappets, cleaned the tank, cleaned the petcock, bought a new petcock filter, new lines, new plugs, etc. I'm kind...

    Timing on a 76 CB200t

I guess the problem I'm running into is that the timing is so far out the bike won't idle unless I stay on the throttle. Which makes setting the timing solo basically impossible with a stroboscopic light. I guess I am going to have to find a friend to help.

    Timing on a 76 CB200t

I've read the manual, I picked up a timing light. I really just don't get it. When it says rotate the plate to advance/retard timing they are referring to the contact point plate? Won't that just fuck up the breaker point gap? So that can't be right. So it's the base plate that holds all of...

79 CB 200t: Starting to think I bought myself a lemon.

you're right it's a 76. Totally had a case of dyslexia there and hit a 9 instead of 6. My bad.

79 CB 200t: Starting to think I bought myself a lemon.

Some back story. I've posted some of this before but I'll do it again. back story: Bought it about 4 months ago. When I bought it it idled extremely high. Like over 5,000. Guy was clueless and it was stalling so he just adjusted it until it would maintain an idle, which as I said, was stupid...

    Noob ignition timing questions within.

Noted. Shit, I'm going to have to take my bike elsewhere to do this. If i do this in my parking garage my snooty neighbors will shit. I live in an apartment building and there's no working on cars/bikes allowed so I already have to do it at non-peak hours / take parts off and up to my apartment...

    Noob ignition timing questions within.

Doing my first timing check and adjustment. I took off the generator cover. It says I need to have the engine running to check timing. So I start it up and it starts spraying oil out of the open cover. Is this normal? Should I be worried? Will it do it the whole time it's running? I never...

First valve clearance adjustment on my cb200t. Little help please.

Don't worry I just snapped a picture with the nut off. I never started the bike with it off!

First valve clearance adjustment on my cb200t. Little help please.

Doing some more reading. It seems I was adjusting the wrong cylinder at the wrong time. I was doing it when the was aligned and the spring and valve stem were in the down position. It seems like I need to do it to when the t is aligned on the cylinder with the spring and valve stem are in the UP...

First valve clearance adjustment on my cb200t. Little help please.

Is there a reason for the difference between exhaust and intake? Because the manual says .05mm all around. It never mentions differences. I went out and adjusted today but it didn't do much. The thing is running far too rich. I'll attatch the video. I ran it for about 10 minutes and when I...

Ok, fellas. I know this is easy for you OG gear heads. This is my first bike and I'm doing my best to get this thing running as nice as possible and learn as much as I can in the process. When I got the bike it was idling extremely high. Like 5k. It was ugly. I rode it home anyways and tore...

First carb rebuild... What is this part? it fell out before I could figure...

Another thing I noticed that inside my carburetor body the walls seemed to be scored and scratched. Is that normal and is that ok? I can try and get a picture.

I should also clarify that blowout isn't from the manuals I have. I found it online. though it is similar.

How stupid of me. It's a 76 cb200t. I have the correct manual for sure. The honda manual says CB200/cl200 and the klymer is 68-76 125s to 200s. Neither show the part. I think I figured it out. When you slide the piece in the top picture in you slide the bottom piece in and there's a tab it...
