I was trawling the forums a while ago and came across a split exhaust collar that had the standard shape but was clamshelled in the centre around the stud holes so 2 pieces could be wrapped around the exhaust and remove the need for the inserts on Ye CB.
Anyone have a pic? I have my buddy...
I have a pair of new Yoshimura R-77 exhausts for my custom project:
These were bought at a cracking price in Australia as the local distributor went out of business... Good news for me :)
Unfortunately this meant no local distributor and this would be my undoing when it came to fit the...
I am keen to bite off a big project, mainly so I can improve my fab skills but also because my expansion chamber on my KTM is a little beaten up. I want to have a go at creating a segmented expansion chamber and wondering how I could potentially use the existing one on the bike a as a template...
I have a dilema at the moment and the outcome of this dilema takes me down 2 different paths with different parts required and therefore cost. I am planning my exhaust build at the moment and will have some custom headers bent and will use merge collectors from Megs to create a 4-1-2 system.
I...
I've been on the lookout for a lathe for ages, but the prices were just too high (approx $800) and so I pretty much gave up on the idea. However Lady Luck showed me a 24hr eBay listing and I jumped on it, even if it turned out to be a dud, I was sure I could at least make my money back as it...
I bought a cheap drill press a while ago when I was fitting out my shed and I've used it loads of times, however there are a few issues with it:
1) The pulley above the chuck has a broken spindle mount at the bottom, meaning when I use the full travel of the press, the pulley jumps off the...
I have a wooden stand for my bike at the moment that works ok, but getting the bike up onto it is a bitch and its low.
I have a welded, a bunch of square stock and a desire to build an adjustable stand but I can't figure out how the hydraulic ones are constructed. Anyone care to enlighten me...
So I'm going down the rabbit hole quicker than Alice on my custom 400F project but I'm having fun and the rule is "to do it right" so that I can ride it for a while if I keep it, or know its done right if I sell it down the track.
I'm keen to make sure the motor runs for another 30,000 miles so...
I have a mongrel bike, part pedigree, part ragged mutt from down the road. Therefore I'm not 100% sure what throttle and clutch cables I should buy.
Bike: Honda CB400F '76
Handlebars: clipons
Clutch lever: Yamaha R1
Throttle tube: Yamaha R1
I am keeping the push pull cables on the...
Looking into K&N filters for the CB400F and ran across these in silver mesh, is this a genuine part as I cannot find it on the K&N website?

Can people share how they setup their speedo sensors? I'm looking to do mine and struggling on how/where to mount the sensor as the ideal position has it hanging right off the fork leg.
Thinking of running it to the rear instead so I can mount it off the swingarm and tap the sprocket for the...
I'm going to replace all the mains and big end bearings in my CB400F motor as there is some slight scuffing on some and to be honest, I've replaced nearly every other part... so why stop now.
Call it cheap'ish insurance.
I understand how to use a plastigauge however I have some questions about...
So tomorrow I'm going to be having a crack at welding in the swingarm brace. Here is the general idea, removed the lower shock mounts to accept the rear part of the brace, had a custom 25.4mm x 2mm tube bent up, will be supporting it on 2 uprights at the motor end and 2 mid way supports in the...
I've taken a lot of the old electrical system off my bike as I want fresh new looking items and the bits I took off are a little rough around the edges.
I'm looking for ways to raise cash to get some more parts coming in and have put everything/anything up on eBay to help fund new goodies...
I am looking to use te old harness as a base for rewiring my bike. It's so far into the custom area now most of the original harness is obsolete so I'm thinking it might be easier to rip the wiring apart and use it to build a new one with what I want, exactly where I want it. Would also allow me...
I've seen a few people using these exhausts from Danmoto and I am keen to know that the ID/OD of the pipe is that connects to them:
Reason being is that I am about to order some SS bends and collectors from Megs and want to make sure my output tube diameter is suited to attaching these to...
Got a head sitting here to replace my damaged one on the 400F. The heads in pretty good nick except some rough valves however I can get them back to new with done gentle work.
One key issue I'm not sure about is with one of the sparkplug threads. A sparkplug has broken off, the only part left...
Looking for some old style Honda logos to put on my tank and clear over. Anyone know where to get some in the right size and format?
Like these:
http://bit.ly/TykvPp
These are vinyl, is it possible to clear these effectively or shoul I be looking at transfers for what I want to do?
Managed to get myself a $150 Supercheap Auto gift card... its burning a hole in my pocket. People, help me spend it wisely.
What should I get for the shed, currently thinking along the lines of:
Shop press (no idea what I would use it for though)
Pipe bender (would it be able to do what I...
02 GSXR forks, bike is on stands with no load on the forks. If I compress the forks I can hear the tubes sliding against each other inside. Assume it's just the tubes sliding against each other on the bushes.
