I've a pair of RG 500 side panels up for grabs too.
Re: **The locO leoN XS650 - Team Build**
The XS has good bones. I'd like to see the upswept exhaust axis align with the subframe tube and go about as high as the spark plug boot. Nice and compact.
I've also illustrated a sleek low fastback seat, vinyl rear section, black suede rider portion...

These have reinforced panels running across the top for shifting...
Sounds pretty cheap and the 883 is enough power to learn on. The Screaming eagle intake kit has already been installed so that'll save a few bucks and give a few cheap horses. You can also bore it out to 1200 easily if you like the bike.

There's no way in hell I'd ever put twisted spokes on my bike.
But I want to see you do it.
A cafed bike out of LA with a latino influence sounds like a neat concept. If it's done well, it's well done.
Will the wheels blend into an overall theme, or just be an awkward stick out like a sore...
I'm always up to offer a tour of Peterborough and the Kawartha roads if people aren't afraid of being hit by falling parts off the Commando. It's been pretty good but you never know.
Leon if you're reading, perhaps get a group together and pitch tents in my backyard.

Are you shellacing the pink foam, sanding it then adding a wax t o the surface as a mold release?
The mold should hold up then. Is the mold fiberglass or plaster?

ps- the seat is still a little blocky, keep softening the radia.
This is going to be a challenge.
1 -Can you see if Royal Enfield has a kit they already make for this? Is there an easy way to convert it to right hand shift? The yellow bike pictured in this thread has a nice clean rear brake set up.
2- You're fighting for clearance for the brake arm over the...
Re: My 1972 Hodaka Ace 100 Cafe/Race project w/pics!
I hear you on the sticker- my RG500 has RACE stickers on the knee indent on the tank- they don't look "right" there but it's totally period of the mid eightiesso it's a nice souvenir. That thing looks like it's going to be a huge giggle to...
Re: My 1972 Hodaka Ace 100 Cafe/Race project w/pics!
I agree about the seat. The decal on the rear of the tank should be scrapped too, it competes for with the other tank decal for title of focal point. Neat exhaust pipe too. Was that modded from stock or as is?

There might be a few shirts here of interest to cafe aficionados , as well as stunters, gals who ride and those who just love to open the throttle. If you don't see a design offered on a particular product let me know here so I can set it up. There are more...
Good luck with this project. It will be a challenge after playing with simpler unit jap multis, more so if they have wet sumps.
Here is a pic of me and my friends Commandos. His is the mint alloy manx tanked one.
I love my Commando. It has a high maintenance to riding ratio, but when it's...
Nice work so far on the Enfield. It's a beauty.
Before people run off and start sending you shift arms (the splined part that rotates on the gear shifting shaft) get a measurement on the diameter and count the number of splines.
When mocking up controls I start with foamcore or card board for...
