Just giving an update...
I've upended the carbs all week and have been spraying them down with PB blaster along the columns/pins then letting it soak. This has freed up three of them. I'll be resting them in a solvent tank on saturday to see if I can get the fourth to free. I'll get some after...
So what I'm getting is the floats aren't that delicate? I'll go with the solvent dip & report back. Has anyone boiled carbs up with the floats attached or used the lemon juice boil on them? I'm not sure how resistance the floats are to high temps or citric acid.

Looks like the tail piece is off a 76. I like the blue on yellow though. Thinking about leaving the yellow and painting the tail end blue. I left the rough seat on the peice for now...
So last month I picked up a 75 super sport and I'm slowly working toward getting it runnin then turning it into a cafe. I've got some pics for now and I'll keep posting as the build goes on. Feel free to shout out ideas!
Given the contact time an aluminum pot should be fine. A stainless pot would be much better and you'd be able to clean several sets of carbs continuously. But hey whatever saves the scrilla right? ;D You really want to make sure you monitor the contact time on your carbs though. Citric acid...
