That has a great look to it. Sure it sounds awesome too! I toy with street tracking mine but just can't pull the trigger.

    77 GS550 project

My first street bike back in 81 was a 77 GS550 in black with the gold and blue pinstripes. Brings back great memories. I had done a quick superbike version with it way back when. Yosh pipe, superbike bars, cut down seat, raask rearsets...just can't leave well enough alone. Wonder where that...

    1980 Yamaha XT500 - NOOB!

Bike looks great. I struggle with going super moto with mine. They certainly can be a bear to start. Mine has been converted to 12v and has no battery but is stripped down with a simple wiring harness.

    XT500 Project "Too Excited"

I have an 81 XT500. You are going to love it!!! Mine is set up to look like a TT 500 with YZ suspension, but I keep thinking about supermotoing it. If you'd like to sell that clark tank and the rack I'd be interested.

    waterbottle gas tank

I made one out of PVC pipe. Wandered around Home Depot got a barb, a 1/4 turn valve, some pvc bits. It is about 1.5" diameter and 1.5 foot long. Has a cap pressed on with a hole drilled all the way through sideways for venting and for a hanging hook that goes up to a rafter. Cheap and easy.

    Intros....RIc in Richmonds cafe racer...

My first cafe racer was more of a Wes Cooley superbike inspired GS550 Suzuki 1977. If anyone runs across one with falt bars, cut down seat, yosh pipes around the blackburg va area from the late 80's I'd love to know where it went. Then on to a GPz 750 that was pretty much stock. A hawk...

    Shaving down 360 Triple clamp

What is on the back of the casting? As long as the thickness is there some good webbing underneath of it I can't imagine that would weaken it. I've got a milling machine so I'd just clamp it down spin some handles and flatten it out. You could likely saw it off with a hacksaw and the using a...

Getting gasoline in carb w/o using the tank

Plug the vacuum lines if you use a remote tank or it will run like crap. I made a remote tank out of some PVC pipe and some brass fittings. Hangs from the rafters, doesn't hold much fuel.
