    Shop in Royal Oak?

I live in R.O. I do not believe there is any sort of vintage motorcycle store there. Some shops carry made in detroit gear and other such items.

    WTB 71' CB500 Four - 4 into 1 exhaust

Looking for a 4 into 1 for my new project. I believe most exhaust systems for the 500's and 550's are the same. Could use just a header if one was available. 71' CB500 Four

    Detroit's hidden Veladrome - late 60's oval track re-discovered

Haven't been able to find the link on DTT, so i figured i would share. This past summer a lawn mower gang out of the Detroit area stumbled upon an old oval track. They cleaned the area up and rode the embankment with photos and videos to gloat. I have been discussing this track with friends...

CM bobber - Been "lurking in the closet" so it's time for the first post

I do plan on painting the ridge a different color than the rest. Thinking black fender, white ridge, gold pinstripe separating the two. I love the naked metal look also man. Kinda still shooting the idea around of leaving the frame naked after media blasting it. Unsure of how to clear it and...

    welding

@ dcwp - thats a good list of start up tools / accesories. One thing that isn't essential but fricken awesome....i have an auto dimming mask that is super easy to use. Great for starting your bead and seeing what your doing without constant on/off of your goggles. They run 150 ish and like i...

    welding

IMO a small wire feed mig welder would be a great starter to learn. Try to find a cheap 110v welder off craigslist or local classifieds. http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/tls/1629963881.html Found that one today...45 min north of Detroit. Many others out there.

Learning to Weld in SE MI

Just buy a cheap mig welder and go to town! I just learned some welding techniques on my recent hardtail cm build. Just takes practice, patience, and metal. Always use a test piece of same material to "dial" in the heat and speed of the welder. It's easier than you think !!! Good luck. If...
