Is this tank a real Norton? I picked it up from a garage sale and I dont have any experience with Norton's. Its been painted several times I can see orange and yellow under the black. Is this real? What year is it? Is it worth more than just being a donor tank? Thanks in advance!

After about 10min of riding I can look down and see white smoke coming out of my right side carburator. Ive double, tripple checked my valve clearances. I can see the smoke puffing..or leaking out through the pod filter. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
