    1981 Suzuki GS450 Cafe

This is a running and ride-able bike, and is currently tagged. What it is: I've decided to sell my 81 GS450, done with a Cafe inspiration, but not strict adherence to the style. It has 12,xxx original miles (still being ridden, so it will increase). The engine is 100% stock, and runs like a...

    My 81 GS450 Cafe Build

Thanks!! I seldom think to take pictures when I'm working on something. :-[ I get my mind set on what I'm doing and typically don't stop for anything until I'm done. But I'll try to explain what I did. For the coils, I used a bracket like you did over the backbone, and secured the coils to...

jfman: Not that loud, but still noticeable. I fabbed some baffles to put in the pipes. This video was before my new tank and seat, but the exhaust was the same. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tu7FGovo_TQ Carpy: It's Duplicolor Metal Specks Green spray paint, with Duplicolor wheel clearcoat.

    My 81 GS450 Cafe Build

Thanks for the compliments!! I think what I'll do is make a T like Rich had done, bolt it to the stock rear tank mounts, and bend the end of it down so it fits flush up against the rear mount on the tank. Then drill a hole in the bent part of the T, and bolt it and the tank together.

    My 81 GS450 Cafe Build

Thanks!! Piece of cake, took me about 2 hours. I had to cut the stock T tank mounts off, and the stock coil mounts. I used a U bracket to hang the coils from the backbone. The T frame has provisions for the front E tank mounts, since both models used the same basic frame. Suzuki used little...
