    Which Ultrasonic Cleaner?

I have one of the large Harbor Freight ultra sonic cleaners, and it works GREAT! However, I do start the cleaning process like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sfOhvdIWTc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8vNhAH8WxU Once they all of the big chunks are gone, then I put them into the...

Recent Ebay frustrations. Rant. Vent. Pissed off... Fellow ebayers READ!

I have sold a bunch of new hot rod parts to Airlines America. They are a middle man for Japanese customers who want to buy things from the US. There were some months they would spend nearly $10k on parts. Personally, I have never had an issue with them. Ebay has made it nearly impossible for a...

    vtx1300 to 650 nighthawk

Ian, the VTX1300 is a much heavier bike, and makes 79 lb ft of torque. Your 650 Nighthawk makes 38 lb ft of torque. I would certainly think that the 1300 drive would be just fine in your application. My dad's 1300 has all the goodies, and will blaze the tire easily.

    Hip, or Hipster...You Decide...

You can all come to my shop near Chicago off of Rt 66 and hang out any time. There will be no PBR, but plenty of other liquor. Sadly, I do not have any tee-shirts to sell, but feel free to stand next to my propane and kerosene heaters while we party in my un-insulated 540 sq ft garage. I have...

to drain or not to drain....the float bowl

For the first time ever, I winterized my bikes this year. Simply poured some Sea Foam in them, and let them run for a while. And depending on where you store your bikes, I do what I can to make sure no mice get involved, LOL!

    1979 Suzuki GS850: Shaftie revival

Good looking start! I also have a '79 GS850. Yes, they do take forever to warm up! Seriously takes a good 15 minutes before you can ride. Mine has been updated with Dyna ignition, new regulator and rectifier as well. I also went through the carbs. Great running bike, and silky smooth as a stock...

    Honda CB360 Engine/Carb issue??!!

I think there could be one of two things happening. Number one, a possible vacuum leak, which would cause a lean condition and one cylinder to run hotter than the other. Or, a possible blown head gasket, or cylinder head issue. Next step would be to do a compression test, do one hot and one...

    ULTRASONIC CLEANING YOUR CARBURETOR???

I bought one of the Harbor Freight ultrasonic cleaners. It works awesome! Before using, I soak the carbs in Pine-Sol for a day or so to get them clean. Distilled water in the ultrasonic cleaner is preferred, as it has no minerals. You think your carbs are spotless until the ultrasonic cleaning...

    Running on ethanol

Keep in mind than you will burn nearly twice the amount of Ethanol as gasoline to make the same power. Small tank = short ride. You will need higher compression, and different rings as well. Not to mention Ethanol is hydroscopic, which means it attracts moisture. Feel like cleaning your fuel...

ultrasonic cleaners....anyone have one that isn't from HF?

I have a Harbor Freight Ultrasonic cleaner, and it has worked flawlessly for me. I worked for a racing engine builder for a while, and they had a $15,000 ultrasonic cleaner that did the same job as the $80.00 HF cleaner. I did some research before purchasing the HF model, and the next comparable...

Beware! Truing wheel with Harbor Freight wheel balancing stand.

I made my own truing/balancing stand for that very reson. Link to video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vX2BdCDfRbc Since your wheel runs off of the axle, I believe that the wheel should be trued using the wheels actual axle. Works for me. The cone will cause the wheel to appear oval when...
