Hey everyone, I have up for grabs a tank I got with a bike I picked up a couple years ago but never ended up using. Tank has a really nice cap setup, vented and and AN fitting with a petcock. This would be perfect for a race bike or a custom cafe bike. I'm sure it could be made to fit a bunch of...
Well still battling with this thing.. Bike was at a shop for a week, was called and told it was all set so I got a ride to go pick it up. On the ride home it ran like complete shit.. Spitting, cutting out and finally shutting down and overheating on the side of the road... Once it was cooled...
Yessir. It's widened about 3.5 - 4 inches
Well a bit of an update.. I went back one more time and didn't have any luck getting things squared away. Everything I check seems ok. My valves are adjusted correctly, I have good compression and from what I can see the cylinder walls look to have no...
Yeah I'll def be taking a look at the valves again.. Hopefully tonight. As mentioned though they were dialed in just hours before I took this ride and the bike was running absolutely awesome.
I don't want to sound like a know it all by any means, I'm def not. I've had a number of bikes and...
Have the guys you know running coolers done anything as far as trying to improve oil pressure? Do their setups look similar to mine?
I got a chance to play a bit with the bike but haven't made much headway unfortunately.. Oil change, plugs (old plugs actually looked pretty good, left side was...
My thought was kinda based on a few different variables.. My old 550 was a really good runner.. I would notice though that when the bike was at high rpm's for a while like say on a highway ride.. I would def notice a decrease in power once off the highway due to being heat soaked.. Knowing that...
Here's some info on the cooler.. I drilled and tapped the primary cover right above the oil filter for a feed and return line.. Oil Is fed up the line from the centripetal force of the filter. The lines/cooler hold just under half a qt so the oil
Level has been adjusted for that. Seems like I...
Hey everyone.. Just wanted to post this up to see if anyone had some input for me..
Little back story, I've got about 150 miles on my newly finished project. Most of these miles where fairly short rides that for the most part where pretty successful.. The other day I did an oil change,adjusted...
Thanks bud.. Unfortunately I don't have a pic of inside the hub, but I can tell you how that are fastened. In each opening there are 2 small threaded pieces of metal welded to the hub for the outside bolts to hold the mesh in.
Well it's funny you say that, a while back when I first started...
Well it's been a couple weeks with no updates so I figured I would share what's been going on..
As some of you may recall I took on a BSA project for a friend of mine so progress on my bike while slow has not completely stopped.. We have since "finished" the BSA I say that because like I...
You guys have no idea.. I have tried so many times to get him to get some of his bikes running but have had zero luck... he has 30 some odd bikes scattered throughout his 40,000 sq ft shop in various spots so as he goes through his day he can just look at them.. everything from vintage bultaco...
Thanks so much for the kind words gents! I was def lucky to have come across the chance to scoop this bike up.. of course i would have loved to do the work myself and there are some things i would have done alittle dif, but all in all i think once im done doing the things i still want to do ill...
Little update on the rear coil spring. I went to a buddies shop to make use of some of the powder coat stripper he has.. It took alittle while but it worked a treat!
This is after about 15 minutes
After that I took it out and hit it with a wire wheel to try to get some of the heavier stuff...
great info my friend! yeah my blast cabinet wouldnt touch it either.. im hoping the chemical stripper does the trick. the shock body itself is in nice shape so that will just get a quick clean up.. just the spring was in poor shape. Ill def post pics of my expieriance :)
Re: DWMS Racing RD350 Build! New Custom Frame Work Photos!
