It dying when shifting into first really sounds like a need of a clutch adjustment - make sure you follow the manual carefully. As for the kick back - not too sure specifically on the 350 - but i know some bikes do that when the timing is off. good luck

I literally am taking a wire and its sparking with the wire that goes to his coils, unhooking the point wires causes it too go away with every other electrical component unhooked, any ideas?

nice start - but before you weld on the rear hoop i would consider a different angle. I threw on a 4.0 on the back too and have a similar hoop - the clearance is awful and WILL bottom out on bumps .. just something i regret doing, sometimes functionality beats aesthetics unfortunately ::)

Can anyone provide pictures how the throttle cable hooks up to to these carbs? I think I'm missing a throttle cable arm or stay plates on each carb, these carbs are really funky to me in comparison to 350s and 360s, they're like a foot away from each other :o thanks in advance

I would make sure that you have no tears in the diaphragms (even tiny ones), sounds like its a jerky from overly lean mixtures every so often when you open the throttle.. the needle is probably not lifting to let enough fuel in. Just fixed this on my friends bike, we put replacement JBM...
