NOOB - first bike first project sr250

Hi mate, Another Spanish SR here, although mine's going to be sold once it gets through the ITV next month. Just don't have the time/place for messing around with it, so figure it's better to let it go to a new home. Do you speak/read Spanish? If so the guys on...

    Isle of Man TT

I love this one, the commentary's great. Guy Martin talking us round his fastest recorded lap. "On-board with the TT's quickest ever recorded lap in the Senior TT 2007 race in the TT's 100th Anniversary Year with British rider, GUY MARTIN" Part 1: http://youtu.be/QVXc29ZgutI Part 2...

some more work on the bandit

Hey Joe I reckon the old bandits look good in black with the red frame. Was looking at your bike and noticing the lines of the fairing thought of this. Nice and simple and pulls the line from the frame forward into the fairing. Maybe a bit of accenting on the edging (shade/highlights) would...

The old clip on vs ace bar discussion.

I'm sure someone will chime in with more specific knowledge than I. But the clamps on clips ons basically use the same principle as your triples to grip the forks.... It's a relatively large surface area that's "holding" the fork. If they're torqued correctly I don't see how there'd be any...

    Bad luck with DCC.

@Rocan in the OP's defence he did say off the bat that he wasn't slamming DCC. Jus' sayin'

    CX500 Custom frame sucks! ideas?

I had the same problem with the seat I made for my sr250, not cafe but my first attempt had a flat base and i had the same probs. No welding for me either. I built a pan with some bend in it with a skirt to cover the rest of the dead space. I'm still also looking into the possibility of trimming...

    leather pants?

I wear both, plus I also have some mesh armoured pants for summer touring as well. TBH anything that's going to give you protection is going to be hot when you're wandering about off the bike. Let's face it when it's 90 degrees even jeans and boots and going to be warm... I have two pairs of...

    1978 Triumph Tiger 750 Build

Got to agree with the comments above, that tail's just not working imho. The rest of the bike is looking great.

Custom (Honda) Design Rearseats - 3D Drawing enclosed

I'd go with the 2nd one. Just a thought but if you run the lettering first with the wing logo towards the back (wider) end it may fit the space better and allow you to run the logo a smidge bigger - if that makes sense. (haven't tried it so could be totally wrong)

Re: XL350R Tracker - Finished and For Sale!

Re: XL350R Tracker Hi Mate, This made me chuckle, I'm a graphic artist and have made some great versions of my bike in photoshop. What happens in the garage however is another matter entirely... Good luck with the project, looks like a good start so far.

    This is an embarrassing question

Hi Dublin Key positions are generally steering lock/ignition off/ignition on in a clockwise direction The red switch is your engine kill switch. Check the bike is in neutral (green light on dash if it has one) Some bikes have a clutch switch that means you have to have the clutch pulled in to...

    cafe 2 seater?

I could be possible to make a bump stop that bolts over the rear of the seat, kind of like modern day seat cowls for banana seats (think ducati monster). Triumph do something like it with the Thruxton. Not saying I've tried it, or that it'd be easy, just a thought....

    Show me your paint work

That's the plan. As soon as I work out what to use. I bought some PU clearcoat that is supposed to be fuel resistant but I' not sure if it'll play nice with the colour coats... Failing that I'll have to search around for some acrylic clearcoat.
