Thanks eric, i'll let ya know.

Well, in my excitement that I got a chain, and was able to push start this thing I made a big mistake.

I installed the chain, and didn't get the clip on good enough, and threw the darn thing.

Crapo, crap, crap.......................

BUTTTTTT.......I was able to ride up and down the street a few times, and she runs and rides.....dayyyyuuum, after 15 or 20 some odd years of resting up against a rotting shed.

I wish I could have gotten pics, and video.

I can't get the videos I have now of it running posted so, guess it doesn't matter.

Another thing too, I need to get the original shift lever, that has the heel side. Trying to get my toe up under the lever was tough. And a new brake pedal, or at least take mine off and bend it out some, cause it rubs the exhaust.

Geeesh, more parts on top of the parts I still need, and the list just keeps on growing.

But, I'm a happy camper, with where it's at, at the moment.

Guess, I can start playing with the 750 and try to get it back running again. (Carb issues)

Sucks. Im with ya though...thats why its funny...I do that kinda stuff all the time.

If you create a YouTube account, put your videos up there, then copy the url and paste it in here between the url option. We can then see your videos. Sorry about the chain.

Hey thanks JB.

I thought I had one already......apparently not.

I'll give it a try again.

Using imovie I cant get vids to "share" to youtube. It wants a youtube password that NEVER works.

So, Once edited, I just save them to the desktop. Then open youtube and upload them using the youtube uploader.

Got another master link at the local Suzuki shop.

Made sure the clip was clipped, rode kinda shaky, guess I'm just not used to riding something that small.

I read the book on front fork oil and the book says to put the fluid in when you have them apart.

Well, I thought you put them together like I did the 750, and put the oil in.

Will it be ok to add the oil now, or do I need to tear the front end back down?

Other than that just kinda weird to be trying to ride something this small at 55 to 60 mph.

Work is 21 miles away, and there's one road that the speed limit is 55. And at 5 am in the morning there's crazies out there.

It does seem like it will be a fun bike to ride on occasion back and forth to work.

But, better yet, git the wife out on it.

I cant see any reason not to add fork oil now. The tube is empty w a big hole in the bottom of it. Oil will just run through. Unless they are trying to avoid any trapped air. But, even that will work out pretty quickly.

Adding fork oil then assembling would make for a huge mess.

It is funny, I got both the 100 and 360 out just now. Took the 100 down the road and around block. Got her up to 53mph! woohoo.

Then I fired up the 360. And WOW the 100 makes the 360 feel like a TOTAL POWERHOUSE! LOL

;D

I cant imagine what your 750 will feel like after you take a couple longer 100 rides!

Hey, thanks trek, I figured as much on the oil.

It's funny, my neighbor came home with a 2015 dyna, and instead of walking over there I rode the 100.

And what happens, the carb started pissing all over his driveway. Then it started running like crap. Tapped on the bowl no luck. Finally got it started and rode back home. Still pissing.

As I was screwing around trying to stop that noticed oil running down the front of the engine, looks like it's coming from the head gasket.

Crap.

Then......then.....it bit me again......burnt my arm on the exhaust.....................dayyyyyyyum.

dang dude, your lil 100 wasnt very happy about you checking out another bike, was she?
sounds like a very jealous little gal, you got there. ;)

sucks about the oil leak.

^^^^^hahahaha^^^^^^...doesn't matter about the oil though.

Gotta tear her down to change the kicker shaft anyways. Planning on doing that in the next couple of weeks. Gotta order a gasket set first.

Gonna take the head in and have it checked for warpage this time.

Anyone come across a source for different sprocket sizes. I would love to see this thing do 60.

here is some gearing info and resources I have used. ebay seller for front sprockets http://www.ebay.com/itm/121683302345?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT he stocks 14 and 15 tooth

jt 40 tooth rear http://superbike-nation.com/products/Steel-JT-40-Tooth-Rear-Sprocket-Honda-CB-100-70%252d72.html

jt catalog has very useful gear chart that you can use to compute top speed if you what ratio you have now.

http://www.jtsprockets.com/catalogue/model/88

I have a 40 rear and 14 and 15 fronts (the higher number of teeth on the front the higher top speed at the cost of acceleration)
with our limited hp, these three cogs should be all you need. My new 124cc 125 with the 2 piece head calls for 40/15
my 100 and other 125 are 40/14

Thanks bubba! Wow

I currently got 14/43 (3.07) maybe Ill start w 15 see what that does (2.87).

Then go from there w the 40. (2.67)

It is surprisingly "torque-y" ::) on take off in 1st. Considering the size of the little beast.

Any idea whats approx redline is on this little CL100? 9500 maybe?

Just for fun. With its current setup 23" daim tire, 14/43 sprockets, 3.07 ratio, 9500rpm, 5th gear. The top speed calculator says...

69mph ;)

Swapping in a 15 tooth would boost her up to 79mph.

This guy is pretty informative. Get's into real sprocket teeth around 16 minutes. https://youtu.be/O35AwCp-6b8 Pretty cool how small teeth changes make big % speed, torque, and acceleration changes. Trek, let us know when you hit 80mph

Well, pulled the carb last night, cleaned it, boy that rubber bowl gasket has shrunk.

Was tough to get it to seat back on the carb.

Well, all that was to no avail.....the freaking carb is still peeing. I think I'm gonna take the spring from it and put into the origianl carb and see what happens with that one.
